An angry Thai man caused chaos after being overcharged at a Lotus’s supermarket in Chon Buri province. The out-of-control customer is seen in a viral video pouring fizzy drinks and throwing bottles on the floor inside the store.

A Thai man posted a video of a man causing chaos at the Lotus’s store on his TikTok account, Yodekthep. In the footage, the angry Thai man can be seen progressively opening bottles of soft drinks and pouring them onto the floor and throwing bottles in frustration.

The TikToker stated in the caption…

“I think he was angry because he did not get a free plastic bag. Wait for the confirmation. I feel sorry for the shopping mall maids. This occurred at a shopping mall in the Ban Bueng neighbourhood of Chon Buri.”

Another TikTok user revealed in the comment section that the man was angry because the cashier overcharged him. The cashier admitted to her fault, apologised, and solved the issue, but he was not satisfied. He demanded that the staff bow down to him and apologize, a request they refused to comply with.

"Weera’s mother, 64 year old Waraporn, claimed that her son has depression and is currently being treated for his condition. She said Weera turns aggressive when someone takes advantage of him. Despite this, Waraporn stressed that her son is otherwise normal and capable of mixing with customers.

I bet this looser still lives with his mom.

Being taken advantage of and a cashier making a mistake and then apologising are two very different things.

What's the difference between this and a 2yo having a tantrum.

Not much.

Does he cry like a baby as well.

Petulant. Looks like a six year old.

Those cashiers may make a mistake and correct it if pointed out so i don't see why the fizzy explosion.

She overcharged him by 400 baht. I don't know how a cashier can make a mistake by scanning the bar code. So what was the 'mistake'? But, according to the article, the manager 'went missing' and as a result the man-child threw his toys out of the pram - or in this case his purchases out of the trolley.

Typical of Thai males after a lifetime of cosseting by mummy & granny.

Mommy to the rescue with excuses galore to protect " Mommy's little soldier "

Mental illness ... depression causing irrational behavior?

Scanning an Item twice can easily be done by mistake, In my macro, security only check amount of items paid for against the number of items in your trolley. Any mistake is easily spotted.

Good on them, this bloke is off his Trolley, mummy's boy

Then why does she permit him to go shopping alone I assume he drives there.

What happens when he feels somebody cut him off on the roads or somebody honks?

He should be with mum or insitutionalised.

Thanks for pointing that out, although I suspect it fell on deaf ears.

The anti Thai posts in this thread are both childish and pathetic.

Yes it most certiany does. From ChatGBT:

'Yes, depression can often lead to irrational behavior. When someone is depressed, they may experience distorted thinking patterns that can cause them to have a negative perception of themselves, others, and the world around them'.

Most folks would understand that at least to degree, but on this forum most like to express  their anti Thai sentiment instead. Pathetic.

Several posts containing racist slurs have been removed.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

I think that the majority of you who replied to this thread have missed the likelihood that this guy is probably suffering from a serious mental condition.

Whilst I agree that it is quite common for some Thais to behave somewhat irrationally and become confrontational for what we think are minor annoyances, this guy was way over the top!

Just saying.

In contrast shopping at Lotus with a savvy Mrs has halved my shopping bill for the last two weeks with a myriad of discounts one of them being north of a 1,000bt its just the customers behind us that are going nuts ????

Some people are at their end about to break.  Too much stress in lives today.  Some handle it better than others. But I wonder where this Tik tok  society is heading.  I sense trouble.  Let the chap vent.  Something to have a laugh about later.  No real harm done.  It's not like he was kicking in heads.  I thought he did well and I commend him for keeping it fun.

Perhaps the "looser" [sic] lives there because it is a family business.

No, she made a public statement because of the bad publicity the video generated for her business.
