A video clip of a foreign man who was standing and urinating on the back of a Tuk Tuk in Patong has gone viral on social media this week, causing outrage and anger from many Thai social media users who demanded the foreigner be arrested and charged to the fullest extent of the law.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday (January 8th) they checked and identified the Tuk Tuk driver as Mr. Prathan Boonteam. He told police that the incident was two months ago, however, and believed the tourist was now long gone from Thailand.

Prathan recalled that on the day of question he picked up several foreign passengers from the Bangla Road to take to a local hotel. One of the foreign men was standing at the back of the Tuk Tuk and urinating onto the road openly, appearing to be heavily intoxicated. The driver decided to head to the Patong Police Station but the foreign man jumped off the Tuk Tuk and sped away.

Sometime you just gotta pee. What's the alternative? Let your pee drible down your legs and trousers? This can be a major problem for older men with an enlarged prostate.

But not him, because he's not old.

Quality  tourists...... but this behavior can't be accepted. Also in Western countries, people don't that, but complaining after 2 months is very strange...

Anyway the severest punishment for doing so is over the top too.. There more offences that are worse..

everyone should urinate in a place they shouldn't be urinating at least once in their life.

They're called tuk tuks in Phuket.  Ergo that's what they are.

The smaller 3 wheeled contraptions are not suitable for Phuket's hilly terrain.

This has come up on the forum a number of times over the years.

very Thai to blur his face, protecting his privacy and at the same time going OMG

I've lost count of the times I've seen Thais urinating in public and that includes women. Last one was a mother and daughter(?) stall holder outside my local 7/11. They just squatted down and did it next to their stall.

Even a dog wouldn't it..

don't get me started... there's one of those green telecommunications junction boxes near my place and next to a temple which is basically used as an outdoor toilet by the locals, when you walk past it absolutely stinks. the irony is that there is a public toilet about 50 metres away. go figure.

The alternative?

Ring the buzzer alight from the sonthaeew and find a restroom *very easy in Thailand.

Or at least have the sense of a dog and pee on a bush.

Crime of the century!

Thai Social Media Users? Are they the same as "netizens" or some other kettle of fish?

...and a cookie is called a biscuit in the UK, so what's your point?

In Pattaya bigger trucks than that (Thai standard) are called both songtheaws and baht buses. Weirdly only the Russians call them tuk tuks. I wonder what they call actual Bangkok tuk tuks (Pattaya doesn't have them). Maybe it's the Russian influence in Phuket?

And that comes from the country that invented and has Ping Pong Shows as their national sport 🤣🤣🤣

first off, its not a tuk tuk.

next, while the guy is douche, these reports over "enranged" netizens are overinflated.

people get disgusted they make a snarky comment or two, call for justice and forget about it.

nobody is truly enraged
