Seychelles

No, Maldives.

But I think there are also lots of nice beaches in the Seychelles.

From the Maldives I visited them myself, now 30 years ago. The beaches are just perfect.

Whats that red and white in the sea, shark net?

It's so you don't get hit buy an annoyingly loud jet ski, or carved up by a boats propeller as no prop guards are fitted to any of them, while you swim in the 'serene' bay of Pats.

They can list the reasons, but many of us know the truth.

10's of millions of males single or in bad marriages want to come here. Mostly sick of the woman in their countries with bad attitudes, fat, and weird hangups.

Why not; Booze, good food, good prices and plenty of sex here.  Take out a few of the negatives and it is male nirvana.

I think your description describes the typical farang in Pattaya as well "bad attitudes, fat, and weird hangups."

Most visitors who have been to Pattaya complain about the lack of family friendly activities.

I wonder why so many Thai families send their daughters there then?

And it's only February 2024...

Pattaya, on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast, was ranked 7th in the destinations category, with the website claiming that only 1% of Tripadvisor listings could make its name.

Memory loss is a common side effect after visiting Pattaya...

Where is that famous beach?

I know Jomtien beach. It's ok, but famous? Sure not.

The picture is from a great beach - obviously not in Thailand.

I don't get your irony using "obviously". Why obviously? Thailand does have beaches as beautiful as the one in the picture. Just to name a few (there are hundreds or even more), Koh Lipe island, Koh PhiPhi, The Similans, Koh Lanta, I haven't even scratched the surface of beach beauties in the Kingdom!

Oh dear, this will cause so much angst amongst the Pattaya haters (who have hardly even been there).

Indeed!  Many haven't even recovered yet from Pattaya being named the 15th most visited destination in the world by Mastercard and now this!
