Temperatures predicted to exceed 40 degrees next week

Temperatures are expected to surpass 40 degrees Celsius in several provinces next week, as tomorrow the “heat index” is expected to reach 48.1 degrees in Bangkok and 51.4 degrees in Chon Buri, according to Somkuan Tonjan, head of the Central Weather Forecast Division of the Meteorological Department.

The Heat index, also known as the apparent temperature. is what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature. This has important implications for the body’s comfort.

Two weeks after Thailand officially entered the dry season, Somkuan said that temperature has already reached 39 degrees or 40 degrees in some provinces and is forecast to reach 41 degrees in Lampang, Uthai and Lop Buri provinces next week.

For a few years the thought has nagged me that the publicised predictions for climate heating have actually been edited down, in order to prevent world panic and to give "them" time to build their offworld sanctuary and prepare their planetary escape pods.

How's that for conspiracy theory?

Have read of Sold - For a Spaceship by Philip E. High published in 1973.

Quote

They had slept in safety while destruction raged above them. When they awoke and emerged from their places of refuge, the world had changed - totally.
For man soon discovered that he was no longer the dominant species on Earth. Now there were other creatures, not only ready to dispute the point but well prepared to prove it.
It was later, much later, that the bulk of mankind discovered they had forfeited their birthright, traded their home, the planet Earth - for a spaceship.

Every year in our village, after a week or two of heat we get a series of those lovely triple bangs. Same thing when it starts to rain, which will be soon, I hope.

Gosh hot season who would of though that,  6  years  ago we had  about 3  years very hot and dry, 42.1c on  one  day, havent seen that since in fact the last 3-4 years have been much wetter and  cooler. This year is  drier though, pesky weather always changing.

We're still waiting for last year's rain season. It was forecast as up to three months late, well that didn't happen.

Nearest reservoir never reached 40% capacity.

Small lake near home is bare earth. Our pond about 20x10 has gone from max about 3m deep to a muddy green less than 1m.

I like the heat, but in an area that's primarily orchards it's tough times for those without an accessible water supply.

Don't mind the heat. but.

Here in khon kaen we  entered the dry season 5 months ago. It briefly rained , not enough to do anything a couple of times since early October.  Last year I planted a bunch of relatively young and yet unestablished trees, and I have to water them every couple of days, in fact I got to go and do it in a few minutes.  Cant wait for a bit of rain.

It's hot in Thailand in March?

Shocking. Can someone let me know which politician will accept my money to remedy this issue.
