What is the first thing you eat when you go home?

As soon as I get off the train (200 yards from my apartment) I nip into the bakery opposite and buy a large bacon and mushroom bap.

Later, I visit the supermarket and stock up on Warburtons crumpets, Lurpak salted butter and decent ground coffee for breakfast. Supper is fish (large haddock), chips and curry sauce. Oh and a bottle of dandok (dandelion and burdock) to wash it down.

Always have a Char Siu Chow Mien at least once on my visit.

You didn't limit this to Brits so for me it's a tossup between --

Pho

and

Tacos

So, Vietnamese and Mexican food. Don't you like American food?

No sir; for yanks should be big macs, mac apple pies, KFC, wendy burgers, washed down by 2l of coke or sprite with free refill (must be in a giant paper cup).

But I haven't been home to my country of origin for 24 years (not USA) so I can't answer the question.

It's the REAL beer available everywhere in Canada and cheap compared to Thailand.

But for food sakes, it's the fresh, flavourful  standard breakfast with bacon (Brits call it streaky bacon), large eggs over easy (almost impossible in Thailand), fried potatoes with onions and bell peppers (Brits = capsicum), deliciously fresh beefsteak tomatoes, and whole wheat or multi-grain toast and rich fruit jam.
