Openly showing what this government thinks of us.

  • So much wrong with what just came out of this little man's mouth. That was extremely racist and xenophobic. Very ugly to see a person of his stature in the government talking like this.    I

  • So can we file defamation charges against him now or does it only work the other way around? ????‍♂️

I think that he's just trying to drum up business for the government's sale of face masks at 5x the price that the Ministry of Public Health is selling them for; 2.5 baht vs 0.55 baht. Some spokesperson said that it just wasn't feasible to give them to everyone free, as that would be expensive. Submarines are not expensive, though. ????

I think he's just an idiot!

Isn't that the standard definition of a Thai politician? ????

Lets see him try to dig himself out of this hole. Time for the popcorn. His short fuse has created a monumental cock up.

I thought his backhanded apology was even worse

Beyond his racist claim about the farang, I assume that his loss of control indicated that the virus is not under control as the government officially states, which is not at all reassuring.

Anutin is the head of the Bhumjaithai Party, which came to power by backing legal cannabis and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha.

Wooa there boy. Must have been tokin some of his own home grown before he opened his pie hole.

What a first class sphincter ( no offence to sphincters intended )

And even his cannabis policy turned out to be a big lie.

I wear a mask most of the time while out and about in BKK, not because of the virus, but because of the numerous old cars, lorries, buses, etc. stuck almost daily in the never ending traffic conjestion spuing out thick, filthy black exhaust fumes into the air.

Unbelievable! Where does all this hatred come from?

I understand when people talk in the kitchen, but this is on a government level. I'm speechless.

I m even offended by this, last week i gave 5 of the 3M masks to our guards because the air was soo bad...but after that came this virus and now we don't have any masks left for ourselves and they are sold out everywhere.

On top of that this minister wants to kick me out when i don't wear one but they are sold out !!!! EVERYWHERE!

I can't stop thinking about it, this guy should get kicked out of the government....

All the foreigners who complain about the stupid governments and ministers in their home countries. Now you see it could be MUCH worse. ????

He is. Under his chin.

You missed the irony.

He is giving a speech, spraying his germs to all and sundry without the mask.

I really hope you missed the sarcasm rather than him missing the irony. Come on the blues!

Not only should you report foreigners overstaying their visas.

Now you can call the hotline to report farangs not wearing masks  , if you spot one of them call our hotline asap!

Why is he making a big deal all of the sudden? Last week the Coronavirus 'pandemic' didn't seem to bother him... is lack of Chinese tourist (money) the change of heart? If the infected are here and wearing masks, they are likely spreading the virus by touch...

Ah Anutin my favourite Thai politician.Got a lot on our plate have we?Sounds like you've been reading to many ThaiVisa forums and decided to dish out the same vitriol as can be seen on these illustrious pages seems like you've upset a few of those that like to dish it out but can't seem to be able to handle it when it comes back, lord knows I've do enough Thai bashing to feel I've deserved a bit of a spray so I guess I'll go to the fridge and get that bottle of hardenup. You didn't seem to understand that the falangs were just trying to keep the 2 meters distance from strangers as recommended by your esteemed self. They don't know who you are or wether you're infected or not.Now take a deep breath and go back to cabinet like a good little minister and finish legalising ganja like you promised you would as March swiftly approaches and I'm tongin' for a cone!

I am curious as to why Westerners who decline to use a face mask and not non-Westerners, though.

It's about whether you allow yourself to be advised by one of the 'dumb ones' as opposed to say, the WHO.

More racist ranting from this toxic administration. He was a former minister of the interior, from a political family. He was appointed purely on cronyism. Where is his "health" background? He speaks with zero authority. He is ignorant and fairly useless.

Fairly useless, I think you are being way too lenient!!!

He man is an out and out cretin and like most of his ilk he proves this on a very regular basis!!

Well I have lived here for close to 9 years and wouldn't know who is even if he fell on me from a great height ????

Not so long ago, majority of posters were criticising WHO as being dishonest and doing China’s bidding. All of a sudden, everyone is holding up WHO as saying nothing but the whole truth lol.

He is right, they need to be removed...Protect Thailand at all cost regardless of consequences.

My guess is that Thais and other Asians react to him in public with immediate submission(kriengjai) plus people are happy to have anything free. He's the big man so he expects immediate respect. You see this type of react all over Thailand with the leaders even down to the heads of districts. But a lot of westerners don't have this culture in their nations. It's common to ignore people who want to stop you to talk or passing out things.

I've been picturing comic scenes playing out at my visa renewal next week:

When I can't understand what the IO's saying because she's talking through a mask, she refuses to take it off out of fear of catching the virus, and I refuse to take off my mask to allow my face to be biometrically scanned out of fear of having my visa denied and being thrown out of the country for not wearing a face mask.

No wonder people refused them. Look at all those hands touching the masks.

And they are the cheap ones which go behind the ear and those hurt a lot....i need 3M which go around the head and have a outlet valve, those cost more but are much more comfortable for large persons like us farang who have much larger lounges.

I also would refuse them from him, he doesn't look professional at all with those bare hands an the masks look very cheap and not N95...what a kee nok...

Normal they worried about farangs, since the current epidemic found its origin in a bat to human transmission, another future outbreak, in Thailand, may result from a farang to human transmission.

As easy to read as a book you might say.Poor bloke's having a tough time of it and like most Thais they just seem to make things so much harder than seems necessary.

The problem isn't the farang who refuse to take a mask from your grubby little hands.

It's the Chinese you keep letting in.

Solve the real problem, and stop look for blame you fat f@@@.

Every foreigner living in Thailand should spare five minutes of his time and writing a short message to their foreign ministry or president office about this racist and insulting speech of Mr. Anutin.
