received a letter from Myanmar's new junta leader asking for help to support democracy.

there is an old saying, something like that   "In the Kingdom of the Blind, the Man (Prayut) with One Eye Is King".... thus by his neighbors standards he (Prayut) is king of democracy   555

Yes, thai government will help by crackdown on protests. Immigration police was active yesterday outside myanmar embassy interrogaring people.
also yesterday police arrested 4 for lese majeste.

looks, like burmese opposition is inspired and supported by thai protests, so arresting those 4 will have a chilling effect on situation in birma

That's an easy one for the general eliminate opposition  (tick) jail any dissenters on any 112 charge or make one up  (tick) reinstate yourself after new fake election (tick) run the country and economy into the ground (tick) surround yourself with unusually wealthy yes men (tick) wait for the lid to blow off before making off at speed (in process)  ????

and on top of that, a second hand aircraft carrier would ensure democracy for ever.

What has an aircraft carrier laid down in 1992 as a new build vessel for the RTN got to do with the present Thai government?

I'd love to see that letter sent by the Burmese dictator.

I bet it reads nothing like the article suggests.......if it exists at all outside of Prayuts imagination.
