The latest Thai poll about getting through the Covid-19 crisis had further bad news for the government and Anutin Chanvirakul's health ministry in particular, reported Daily News.

91.9% of people polled said that the crisis had exceeded the capabilities of the Thai Health Ministry.

94.8% said the government has to give compensation to those who have suffered through closure orders.

94.1% wanted the Interior Ministry and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to do more.

Meanwhile the media were told to present a united front and act as a calming influence by 93.6%.

94% called for people to stop spreading fake news and sowing disharmony.

The Super Poll asked 1,114 people their views from July 6th to 10th.

And with Anutin at the helm, they are not wrong.

  • why waste time and money? just ask the question a different way "What does the government do that does not exceed their capabilities?"

Basically anyone would be better fit for the job than Anutin. I bet even the average tuk tuk driver would excel him.

8.1% of people polled then are apparently delusional if they think Anutin is capable.

Is anyone truly surprised with this. The only ones that believe they are doing well are the Junta followers and Government apologists we hear from daily or see on the news defending them.

Probably that was Anutin family members.

I've believed this from pretty much the start.

They are incompetent at every level here.

We know already a long time and some people too because they opened a petition at change.org..

Wasn't there a Covid Czar appointed 3 months ago?

"The Thai cabinet today (Tuesday) designated Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as the sole authority in charge of all responsibilities and duties, previously vested in his ministers, to deal with the current COVID-19 pandemic."

What happened to him? Oh yes, he is quarantining at his favorite barracks...

Anyways, time for Anutin and the Czar (and the rest of the clowns) to roll over and disappear.

I'm just amazed at the resilience of the Thai people who are still coping despite the best efforts of their government.

Though it may be worse in Thailand relatively, ever single government in the world has "mismanaged" this plandemic from the beginning.

Do you still wonder why like I DON'T?  555

yes...their media is under control

They did a good job early but as always managed to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. This is killing the economy and peoples livelihoods. Vaccines need to be imported by the planeload - commercial or government - and distributed by any means possible - including private hospitals, walk-in facilities and pop-up locations. Then open the economy and bring significant change to the outdated investment and ownership rules to encourage FDI.

Very good question .... they claim very few infections. Do I believe them? No.

I "think" that was the 1st round of a 12 round boxing match and they declared themselves a winner before the end of the bout.  I also truly believe that Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Burma did nothing materially different than the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, etc but for whatever reason South East Asia had extremely low Covid infection rates.  Now as they say, it is S.E. Asia's turn in the barrel.

Well, you have to wonder on what basis are they forming these opinions.

From the governmental standpoint, you could be correct. But at the individual level, the first time around, people at least in Bangkok were willing to abide by the social distancing, store closures, and mask wearing. (Remember, right before Covid, people here were already wearing masks because of PM 2.5.  That might have given Thailand a built in advantage.)

I'm glad the penny has finally dropped with Thai people,  this Government is just a bunch of clowns pretending to be ministers
