More than 41,000 expats in Thailand have registered for a COVID-19 vaccine using the Expatvac registration platform.

According to stats released on Thursday (Aug 5) by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Tanee Sangrat, a total of 41,616 expats in Thailand have registered for the vaccine using the Expatvac website

Of those who have registered, 32,563 are aged under 60, while 9,053 are over 60.

Those suffering from underlying health conditions totalled 3,038, while 172 pregnant expats also registered.

Mr Tanee said that over a third of those registering were located in Greater Bangkok.

Earlier, Mr Tanee said that he expects people to start receiving vaccine appointment dates from August 10 and 11.

Priority will be given to the over 60s, pregnant women and people with underlying health conditions.

It is understood 150,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which was recently donated to Thailand by the United States government will be used to vaccinate expats in Thailand.

Expats in Thailand who have not yet registered to receive a vaccine are urged to do so here: https://expatvac.consular.go.th/

Oh yes I can see a miss understanding occurring right hear. Expatvac  must be a new vaccine or a relabeled brand from you know how.

So 75,000 (double vax) donated by the USA

42,000 registered

Then I would expect (LOL who am I kidding) all foreigners to be vaccinated with this gift

Its like a game of find the lady (cards) or the pea in the cup, watch the slight of hand. Imaging the screams from the HiSo if all the dirty foreigners are vaxed first with a Delta proven vaccine.

That is indeed good news if it is to be believed.  As a 73 year old with 3 of the 7 underlying conditions I should be near th top of the list ????

since registering from sunday, nobody  was vaccinated so far.

And no any appointments given.

No kind of vaccination was specified, nor criteria for selection to get one.

So it well might be just for propaganda purpose, daily announcement from the ministry of foreign affairs (acting now as ministry of health)

Until now, this is the most serious vax registration for expats outside Bangkok and without thai ID/workpermit.

Next step in a few days, is to make the vax appointments around, outside Bangkok. In a few days we can see if the side is rearly serious or it is just like all the other "fake expat vax sides"  we have vasted our time at.

I cross my fingers.

I am quite surprised at the low number of people that initially qualify for the first round, me being one of them.

Fingers crossed for next week.

 This doesn't make sense.

Wouldn't all 32,563 under age 60 have "underlying health conditions"?

Yes, it's hard to tell how representative (if at all) these figures are of the wider falang community profile: 3/4 under age 60, and quite small numbers with 'underlying health conditions'.

The way things are going the Pfizer will be passed it's use by date by the time this lot get their act together. And that's providing it is being stored correctly. Can I assume the 2nd dose will be supplied from future shipments?

Your registration for the FIRST dose of COVID-19 vaccination is successful.
Once available appointment slot is sent to your email, please confirm within 24 hours.

Failure to confirm within 24 hours will result in the cancellation of your preregistration.

For those residing in provinces other than Bangkok and neighbouring provinces (Nakorn Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon), the Ministry of Public Health will assign a vaccination site in your area. Your vaccination allocation will be provided according to priorities set by the Ministry of Public Health, i.e. age group, vulnerability, high risk zone e.t.c

Yes

We have kind of got past this point already, most got this email on Sunday.

Note:

Although it says above “once available  appointment slot is sent to your email “ it has been recently stated as “ sent by SMS “ so best to keep an eye out on both .

Thanks for the headsup.

Just confirming that this one still working, and as mentioned elsewhere seems the most serious so far.

I am waiting for an appointment.....I registered very shortly after the website opened.

I am told by the email that I will have an appointment in my area, that the first dose will be Sinovac and the second will be Az or Pfizer.

My concern is that the Sinovac element of the vaccination will disqualify me from travelling to UK, EU, US, Japan etc. as these countries will inevitably require all vaccines used to be approved wherever you wish to travel to. Sinovac to my knowledge is not approved in any of these territories.

Does any know anything about this?

Are you referring to the expatvac website that opened last Sunday? Or did you register on one of the earlier websites? In which changwat are you located?

Compared to all predecessors this is a great vaccination website!

Its easy to access, open at all times.

It actually allows people to register first time.

It acknowledges registration very quickly.

It explains what the future steps may be.

Now for the hard part!

No thanks.

It's not compulsory, there's absolutely no reason to publicize your refusal to participate.

Why don't you head back home and tell it to DeSantis.

But I get vaxed in Thailand and return to the UK, my vax will not be recognised by the UK.

I think I'll pass thanks.

I seriously doubt they would mix SinoVac with Pfizer as final dose. Nothing in this article mentions SinoVac doses.

Didn't that donation get used on Thai gov. employees or was that a different donation? Can't find the relevant details so I may be wrong.

If and when I do get this vaccination, i.e. I registered, I will do my utmost best to shame the Australian government for their part, or should I say, lack thereof, by donating $2.8 million to the Thai government towards their vaccination program, obviously with no auditing, so I am sure the Australian taxpayer will be upset to learn about that, i.e. the Australian government throwing their tax dollars into someone's pockets with no assistance from that so called donation towards Thailand's vaccination program not going towards any Aussies that I know of.

So it was the yanks to the rescue, AUS 0 USA 1
