It's a multiple choice question so you can choose multiple beaches but please explain in few short words why you favor your choices.

It's nice to see how and why people rate their fav. beaches and their rating criteria.

we can all learn from one another.

Paradise beach, a short trip from central patong and a million miles away, Its surprising how many dont know about it.

Its well worth the 100 baht entry, a deck chair, food and drink service to your chair. Picture postcard beach with white sand, clean water, some snorkeling. Cute russian girls doing the holiday photoshoot.

None of them, horrible Island I have no intention of ever setting foot on again

Karon Kata and Bang Tao are beautiful beaches. Be careful at Karon and Kata Noi.

Freedom beach is nice for a day on the beach.

Last time I was at Patong Beach it had all the sections divided up and speedboats and jet skis and rubbish on the beach and it wasn't fun. On a good day it looks nice.

Laem Sing is nice too. Though last time they seem to be adding more and more eateries that spoiled the feel a bit.   Better than Surin and Kamala though in my opinion.

But you're still reading the forum and answering posts on it. Strange obsession.

Not really an obsession, boredom

Better come here then and do away with boredom by enjoying the beaches.

The words Phuket and favorite don't go together for me...

That said, many years ago [maybe 12+] I had a nice vacation at the Marriot Resort on the northern tip of the island and that was quite nice... I imagine that it is much more developed by now..

Afraid you might gain 1/2 a kilo?

that could effect your IQ

ps - Crazy is a type of fun and daring..

Beaches are just sand plus rubbish and fat foreigners waddling about who got ripped off as soon as they leave the airport and get in a taxi

No. I'll stick to my lettuce leaves.

Actually the name was a spur of the moment thing. Not obsessed about weight. If you saw the chocolate I eat.

I went to Laem Sing around 2004, where you can only access it by walking down a hill, and it was a beautiful looking but smallish beach. One by one they added food stalls and seats which kind of crowded it out a bit.

Exactly my feeling after reading your pointless, off topic posts.

Banana Beach is a great spot as well.

chocolate will keep you in a good mood..

Phuket was ok in the early 80s but even then not great... there are much better beaches elsewhere.

I don't really like Phuket. I went there only once in about 2013 and hated the place. I'll never go back, despite the beaches.

Had a nice day there earlier this year lovely place only downside is rocks and old coral in sea when swimming.

Leam Sing is my favourite despite having to walk from Surin beach. Freedom is very nice too. Ya Nui also and Paradise. Still prefer the Krabi beaches though.

I like Kata beach. There is always something to look at. Swimmers, surfers, walkers. I have moved up north to Mia Khao for a few days before flying to chiang mai. The Beach is completely deserted as far as the eye can see. Is it too dangerous to swim?

Kata Beach. Never overcrowded, no hassle from beach vendors, easy and convenient parking, good reasonably priced beachfront restaurant on the southern end, clean water.

Although I lived  less than 3 minutes from Patong beach (which was good for daily walks), we always went over the hill to Kata for beach days.

As long as it is like this: Patong othwise back to Kata and Ao Sane.

So the last time you were there was 8 years ago. its changed so much since then. Theres tons more plastic and rubbish.

There are only 10 beaches on Phuket? My favourites are....

1. Layan Beach - the Northern end. Nice beach and great to walk at low tide out to the island and then around the headland and along the creek. It's in a (heavily dual-priced) National Park and so most tourists do a u-turn at the barrier, but it's rarely manned and, in over 50 visits, I've never been charged. Plenty of shade, toilets and showers, and somewhere to eat.

2. Nai Yang - again, a nice place for a long walk from the derelict hotel in the south to some plane-spotting in the north, and very safe swimming. Showers near the lounger area.

3. Nai Thon - for the novelty of the squeaky sand!

Well, to be honest I must say that Patong Beach is very clean every day.

According to the wheels marks on the sand, they must be using some kind of cleaning machines daily.

Don't know why there would only be 10 listed.
Here are the west side beaches listed (except for Mai Khao, which I have yet to measure because of the checkpoint up there, getting back)

List of Phuket’s beaches

1. Amanpuri Beach 440 meters long
2. Anantara Beach 330 meters long

3. Ao Sane Beach 129 meters long
4. Banana Beach 170 meters long
5. Freedom Beach 285 meters long
6. Hyatt Regency Beaches: Smaller West Beach: 84 meters. Larger East beach: 435 meters
7. Jungle Beach 47 meters long

8. Kalim beach 320 meters long
9. Kamala beach 2.1 kms
10. Karon Beach 3.7 kms

11. Kata beach Length: 1.21 kms
12. KataNoi Beach Length 0.75 kms
13. Laem Sing Beach 340 meters long
14. Layan/Mai Khao beach-5.5 kms
15. JW Marriott’s Merlin Beach 310 meters
16. Meridian Beach 330 meters long
17. Nai Harn Beach 700 meters long
18. NaiYang Beach 3.4 kms
19. NaiThon Beach 1.06 kms
20. Naka Beach 230 meters long
21. Paradise beach distance: 100 meters, Small beach to the south: 43 meter
22. Patong Beach: 2.82 kms
23. Surin Beach 890 meters long
24. Tavorn Beach 542 meters long
25. Tri Trang Beach 780 meters long
26. Trisara Beach 266 meters long
27. White Sand Beach 299 meters long

My favorite?   Probably either White Sand (because it's usually empty)  or Nai Harn (it's been nicknamed "porn star beach" by some since the girls have seemed to move there from Patong's ghost town.  (and the fashion trend this year seems to be "skin")

For artistic style:  Nui Beach.

Only one of these made the OP's list so I have to assume they're the ones he goes to.

An army of local workers then a truck comes along and collects the piles of rubbish. Watched it in May.
