BANGKOK, Sept 16 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha assured there was no concern about flooding this year, unlike what had happened in 2011.

Gen Prayut wrote on his Facebook account Prayut Chan-o-cha that yesterday (Sept 15) he visited the Chao Phraya dam in Chai Nat province to see water flows from the North and he learned that two previous storms caused floods in some areas only and water levels remained stable in general.

Flood situations this year were not as severe as that in 2011.

Thailand's answer to Michael Fish.

Why did Michael Fish become famous in 1987?

The night of Monday 15 October marks 25 years since the UK's Great Storm of 1987, in which 18 people died as winds reached speeds of 115mph. Former BBC weatherman Michael Fish gained notoriety for a forecast earlier that day which told people not to worry

Can he give me the lottery numbers too this week ?

He should have kept his mouth shut, there's been more rain that many other years so far.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're up there meddling with the cloud seeding.

I expect floods followed by a few months of drought and then more floods.

lol

Bet he has a direct line to Moses

That must have been one of the agenda items on his bucket list of problems to fix by the end of the year, job done. No wonder he is held in such high regard, I'm a bit concerned that he didn't say "touch wood" after he made the no flood statement though.

Does he look at the news on TV or just listen to false reports from officials?

Stay up there the water will follow you, make a hole in the roof to escape while your waiting.

King Canute as a back-up plan?

Does he watch the news, get any info from his yes men?

It has started already in Pattaya

Oh I forgot BKK is Thailand in his eyes - other areas are just "the provinces"

I would not be too sure of that, Loei province has seen nothing but rain for about two weeks (river has burst its banks) which eventually will make its way down to Bangkok

He's an idiot.

Mrs' village flooded yesterday first time in 40 odd years.

The mighty one has been looking at his crystal balls again !

He should have come to Pattaya, it was far worse than in previous years ..!!!

Ok for him to talk. He's got a submarine on order.

So I guess the Flooding of the large Industrial Zone in Samat Prakan 2 weeks ago was just a little Morning Dew.

.

Geez, do these stooges talk with each other......?

Two days ago one of his many underlings gave advice on how Thais need to be prepared for floods this year, including hoarding.

Somchai: You tell'm there's gonna be floods soon....

Terdsak: Okay, and next day you tell'm there won't be!

Somchai: Gosh, I love my job!

Somchai and Terdsak: Ha, ha, ha, ha.....

Most politicians shy away from absolutes like that.  It could come back to bite him.

He also said there wouldn't be a coup. After reading that, I will now need to get the old boat at the back off my house ready now, it has been there since the 2011 floods.

Not even a single serious typhoon has made landfall and he knows that there is nothing to worry. Good luck.

Sure 2011 started early and lasted and lasted.

But read what happened end of September and beginning of October.

Stand back  I've got this!

Magic Sash ... Check

Magic bedazzled broom  ... Check

And Sevenoaks became Two Oaks !

Every time the Govt. says, no flooding, I know to get the boat and hip boots ready.
