Couple arrested for having sex next to historic Chiang Mai monument

Sanook reported that Chiang Mai netizens were thoroughly outraged after a clip showing a couple having sex in broad daylight hit the internet.

 

It happened at a 700 year old monument in the downtown area.

 

Chang Pheuk police soon had the middle aged couple in hand and they were taken to to police station to explain their lunchtime lasciviousness.

 

Pol Col Kittipong Petchmanee told the couple that he took a dim view of the incident.

Sanook reported police arrested man aged 48 from Lamphun and a woman aged 42 from Lampang, both northern Thai provinces. 

 

The pair admitted it was them in the video but they denied some of the details in front of the constabulary. 

 

They were fined under article 388 that allows for 5,000 baht for such an offence.

 

Later the man said he meant no disrespect and he thought no one would be able to see him and his partner. 

 

The couple also apologized to the people of Chiang Mai over the incident.
