Chinese tourists to return to Thailand - but not until late 2022

The chinese wont be stepping foot on thai soil until all restrictions are dropped. They will not put up with the thai quarantine, testing, insurance, vaccine proof claptrap for a coach holiday,

That said it could be an indicator of  abandoned incoming requirements for next year - here's hoping

On the contrary. Chinese are used to, even expect, state regulation and bureaucracy. The agents who organize the tours will deal with all the paperwork as they already do.

Bad news for all the ignored participants in the tourist trade , such as bar girls . taxi drivers , tour guides , bus drivers , airport workers , room cleaners , laundry workers , street cleaners , street food sellers ,immigration staff , masseurs , building maintenance workers . The list could go on yet there is little said about the real unemployment caused by the pandemic .

Bar girls: the only Chinese you see in bars are from Singapore, Malaysia,Thailand,Taiwan, America.....

Russians are a rarity too.

I am sure this prediction will send some more looking for a Tall Building to jump off.

Yep. Was gonna fix it too. Chinese get more than enough seggz back in China, probably with cleaner and better looking girls with no kids. Only dumb (or should I say seggz-less) Farang will put up with all this just so he can get a chance to buy bargirl a drink.

Sad how low we have fallen.

Try dating Chinese women online. After 'Hi', their very next message is: "Can you pay XXX yuan dowry?"

No hotel rooms with fifteen people crammed in eating durian, screaming at one another and sleeping on the floor.

You may well be on to something here, the high speed rail may have a grand opening, next year, and Chinese can get in and out fast, maybe have MIQ coaches as a safety net, the trains could stop at venues owned by Chinese investors, line them up for RT- PCR , take them shopping, go for a smoke on the beach then whisk them home.

Good that you keep a good eye on all the bars in Thailand for making comments on there customers.

Yet I was making a comment who is unemployed as a result of the pandemic .

Although Sinopharm is recognized by THE WHO. At least you are not getting the Cuban (Alibaba or something) one, In Vietnam, where I am right now, they purchased a couple million  doses, and acquired the license to manufacture it locally.

Well, air pollution will be much better with those thousands of buses off the streets, and the airports friendlier immigration queues without people pushing forward and shouting! The Chinese weren’t there a few years ago, and sorry, not racist at all, Thailand was a much better place all round.

How are your comments not racist? Unfortunately without the Chinese and thier money Thailands tourist sector will not recover. FACT!

I know I shouldn't but I just gotta bite: Can you back that FACT up with any hard, verifiable data?

Wrong.  It's on stark display every day in the tourist areas and venues of Pattaya.

Thai restrictions are the least of their worries. They have UK level restrictions when going home.

They only wish. UK level travel restrictions? Far from it. They take it to a whole new level in China. First two weeks in a government designated hotel. You have no choice and no idea of which hotel until you are delivered to it on a bus. Then 3rd week in a hotel if you have no home in China. If you have a home in China, you can stay there but cannot leave that home during that 3rd week. Then an additional 4th week for observation in some locales.

I am just finishing up that 4th week. A total of 8 PCR tests in that 4 week period. Had to pay for 7 of them.

So, I don't think you will see very many Chinese tourists in Thailand anytime soon, if ever.

I doubt ANY Chinese other than wealthy businessmen will be traveling ANYWHERE any time soon. They are no longer issuing passports and appear to be using Covid as a reason to place further restrictions on their already downtrodden people. And let's face it, when they visit, they tend to spend their money on Chinese-owned businesses in Thailand.

"They want to clamp down on the movement of their citizens and prevent Western ideological imports from influencing them"

You have hit the nail on the head. How convenient for the CCP this virus scare. They can make it so Chinese people don't/won't/can't leave and take all that foreign currency out with them.

When they do come will they be bringing a new virus with them. Because like all of us, we are sick of the masks, sick of not finding most places open. My barber hasn't opened for months and my hair is almost down to the middle of my  ass. So please don't let them in.

Barber not open! Because of covid? In Thailand? Which province? Which city. I had a hair cut and manicure recently.

And the Australians and New Zealanders too. Total authoritarian control over the populations

Too busy planning their invasion of Taiwan.  And lest you think they’ll stop there—look at what they’ve done to Cambodia and now Laos.

Y'know, the paranoid part of me thinks that very thing. Get all our children back under one roof then rain bloody hell on Taiwan (and maybe other places as well?).
