Considering it's older than Latin or the Chinese language I find it quite easy to identify a variant with and pronounce it, would you prefer the Thai alphabet or something closer to home, because if your having trouble with it, perhaps it's time for you to go back to school ?

Personally I don't think its out in the community yet in Thailand. Even with the dismal testing rates here we would still get signals of clusters and there has been none so far. Of course its just a matter of time.

Thailand did well with their 14 day quarantine, which let in no new variants. New variants all came across land borders.  The first Omicron case is reported to have had close contact with 15 hotel staff.

 

Now that Omicron is in, I worry about PCR testing capacity, which they made no attempt to improve through out the whole Delta wave.

 

3X Delta R0 is going to rip if it ever hits Bangkok.  Glad I go Wednesday for a big old 100µg Moderna booster.  (there it is again!  µ micron)

Jeff, I think as a qualified PhD he is entitled to be called a doctor.

This is normal according to medical modeling. This variant looks like it's more transmissible but more mild. The endgame to all this is a flu-style infection, and it will take its place among the other coronaviruses that are out there and infecting everyone all the time, that no-one cares about. MSM have done a disservice to all by scaring the living brown stuff out of everyone and there are so many sheeple that believe the nonsense.
