is there a way to tell how old the test is or could one just simply use the same one for a few weeks or more?

I haven't checked exactly how long it takes but when I do my daughters for school the line fades away when the solution you put on the kit fully dries up.

  • Really not worth the effort. I'd rather get a take away and go back home, than risk a (possibly false) positive test and have to face the consequences.

  • Ditto.  I was told about this by the boss at my bar last night.  I told her straight that she would not be seeing me until the lunacy has returned to it's normal level.

  • The hidden pandemic that's being left to individual Provincial Governors to sort rather than CCSA who are keeping their heads down. This is not going to end well.

With 342 cases of covid in Pattaya/Banglamung this morning out of a total of 3112 in Thailand I can see why the governor is trying to tighten things up but can’t see this working as too late already.

What's next?

Only a matter of time until sneezing in a public space is considered sufficient to get you kicked out of a venue and potentially incarcerated.

I wish I was joking.

And if somebody sneezed on you, what would you say?

Chock-Dee.

You may never see each other again due to the relentless covidiocy.

Hardly think any but the most hi-so of establishments will actually be doing any checking. If any are, will just take my money next door where they aren't.

I think the other way around. Rules and regulations are just for the peons. How the whole delta outbreak started.

Oh agreed they may shut 'em down again, the peons. But guaranteed all the peon bars I'm currently drinking at around Jomtien ain't gonna be asking for antigen test results. If any does...just relocate 3 doors down. ????

I agree with it, in order to prevent ME from catching the bug after all the prevention I have been through and complied with.

I don't want to go for 10 days in hospital just because someone else cannot take 10 minutes to wait for test results.

Yeh come on, someone say 'stay out of the bars then.......'

Hey presto, what's confusing about my post ?

Do you think everyone should be tested before going in the supermarket too ? ????

Yes, and markets too. It could prevent a lot of infections

Maybe we should just test on the hour every hour then........

The muppet released the following as part of the order on 1st January.

"If the venue serves over 100 people regularly customers must have a test before entering the premises, regardless of vaccination status. This can be a rapid antigen test taken within 72 hours and can be administered on-site.

If the venue serves less than 100 people but has the appearance of being “busy” or congested antigen testing should also take place."

Then "early" on the morning of the 2nd January he re-released the updated order and withdrew this part of the original order.

I'm now insure if he was drunk when writing the first order and then sobered up to write the second order, or vice-versa. Not that it matters - both orders are ludicrous.

so can do the test at home and then good (to get hammered) for the next 3 days?

that could be a small issue ????

Just been to a hotel that required proof of a negative test, so did the test at home, and took a phone photo as the evidence.  This was accepted, but the test kit has no unique ID number, so I could (in theory) keep recycling the same photo?

Within 72 hours of what? Going into the venue?

So you must plan ahead...Oh I am going out for a bevvy on Wednesday or going out to eat, better do an Antigent test on Sunday night

"within" i.e. anytime within 72 hours. They take 15 minutes to do, so you don't really have to plan that much. Just take it before you go for your shower to go out. It's ready by the time you put your socks on and will then be good for the 3 days

Gesundheit? 555

While that is gross and totally avoidable by the inconsiderate piece of ????, it does happen. Like anything else, there are risks we all assume everyday, pandemic or not. I don't overly concern myself with every possible potentiality. If this was something I happened to be concerned about (which am not)...then would not put myself in that position. This can happen anywhere however, not just bars or restaurants. Literally anywhere and EVERYWHERE.

Aahhhh......good old Thailand.  Please post the photo for us to assist you with the recycling.

1. All staff, including musicians, performers, entertainers, etc must take a rapid antigen Covid19 test daily.

-=-=-=-=

2. All customers, regardless of the size of the venue and regardless of the customer’s vaccination or recovery status, must take a Covid-19 antigen test within 72 hours of the current time period to dine-in. The venue can arrange for on-site testing or accept qualified test results.

The final nail has just been driven in.

Such an important announcement.  BUT other media outlets have NOT mentioned it.

There will probably be another announcement soon.

This one doesn't seem workable.

May as well shut them for indoor dining.

Memo to restaurants.

Exactly. That's the logical conclusion

I'm not really that worried.  Chonburi will run out of test kits by Thursday Wednesday.

Because of course, they did research into the availability and logistical supply of the kits, projected the potential usage and alerted the logistics supply chain of their forecasts to ensure a continual and uninterrupted supply.

It should all go swimmingly.

I don't think "failing to plan is planning to fail" ever crosses their mind.

I'm gonna pipe in with a sort of optimistic thought.

Omicron is a game changer.

It's almost impossible to avoid it.

Not with masks, distancing, shutdowns, hand washing, or even current vaccines.

Boosting is the best current tool but the boosting program is too slow and many will be infected at the boosting sites.

HOWEVER, based on what's happening in some other countries it's at least possible that Thailand will have a huge wave of Omicron over the next 2 or 3 months, it will peak then decline and the end result might be the beginning of the endemic phase.

Or not.

Not really, everyone entering a supermarket/mall have to wear masks and thre tends to be more social distancing, not so in a bar/restaurant, nobody wears them. That said the rules here are unworkable and ridiculous.

Its not the same. People need to take off masks while eating.
