National – Groups of Ukrainian nationals in Thailand and supporters were staging peaceful gatherings in Bangkok and Phuket this weekend to call for peace and to end the war in Ukraine.

The gathering and march in Bangkok started from Lumphini park to Benjakiti Park at around 4:00 PM. today, February 27th, led by pro-democracy activist Somyot Prueksakasemsuk.

The protesters called for the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops in Ukraine. They were seen holding Ukrainian flags and banners supporting peace/anti-war and painting their masks with Ukrainian flags. They were chanting ‘Stop Putin, Stop The War’ and ‘Hands Off Ukraine’ as well as staging symbolic expressions with tears as their makeup to show the loss of the war.

Okay, if it makes them feel good. But we all know it makes absolutely no difference at all.

I don't get it. Most people on this earth are not bullet proof, including people like Putin.

After all, look at how many people have been killed so far, and this invasion of Ukraine

has only began.  I guess people like the Belarus and Russian leaders have great guardian angels

watching over them. In my opinion.  I am in support of Ukraine being an independent country, and

Russia should leave.

Think we all do

calling for ukraine to not get into nato or try to get nukes, which would be right on russia's border, would go a lot further in keeping russia from wanting to invade and set up a puppet government who wont do that might be more effective.

Putin says ' without russia there is no need for the rest of the world' A very dangerous man with a gigantic persecution complex!

What planet are you on exactly ? Invading Ukraine puts NATO right on Russia's border now if they try to run it as a vassal state ! Putin is just insane saying he does not want Nato on his doorstep then invades a country to put Nato on his doorstep - guy needs putting down, like a soi dog

My thought was, 'power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely'.......

Who knows what is going on in this guys mind......is there nobody in Russia that can rein him in... probably not. He needs to be removed.....

The whole of Europe, UK, America, Australia etc needs to freeze Russia out immediately.

Stop imports/exports, freeze all Russians assets worldwide, ban travel for any Russian politicians.

Isolate Russia completely..

Putin wants one Russia let him have it, but the rest of the world doesn't want Russia.

Exactly . Now he is feeling the pinch and defeat a possibility which he never factored in with his invasion plan . Now like a cornered rat and will press the button , rather than back down . In the meanwhile global governments concentrate on sanctions which will be effective later on but right now we have a maniac who is prepared to annihilate the world . Something has to be done asap , even if it means surrendering and take him out when the heat is off . When he hits that button it is too late . Just hoping that we have intelligence monitoring his movements , especially if he makes his way to a nuclear shelter .

That's simply naive and ignores Putin's obvious megalomania and madness.

Accommodating and appeasing insane people is itself insane. Putin's NATO rationale is simply a transparent pretext.

Like Xi and Trump, he's out to be the dictator that builds the biggest empire and shapes history. Like both of them he is deluded.

So you are doing nothing, right?

Quick barrage of social media posts to remind people you still exist and job done.

Thoughts and prayers are equally effective.

Look how many the US have killed with their invasions in the past 5 decades.

Most of us are getting the story from one side only.

But America good, Russia bad. Not according to the body count.

He won't hit a button, it's all bluff, he's after Ukraine.

If he threatens a NATO alliance country he'll wipe out his own country, he didn't bank on that.

Hit him hard with sanctions and freeze Russia out.

This is not just about America and Russia.

Its also the UN condemning the invasion and a large list of countries imposing sanctions against Russia because of the invasion. The European Union, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan along with others have all hit Moscow with sanctions

Simplistic and misguided, but whatever makes you sleep at night is OK.

They thought he was bluffing by lining up 190,000 troops and armoury and he even said that it was a military exercise , then bang , he invaded Ukraine . We do not know for sure if he is bluffing but it is one hell of a gamble with the end of civilisation as we know it at stake .

If he takes Ukraine , he has already told NATO that he wants an area of land from every NATO country bordering west of Ukraine e.g. Poland , Moldova , Hungary etc as a buffer zone and that will trigger world war 3 as NATO have said they will resist and defend any NATO country . The USA already have sent troops to every neighbouring country .

I don't think Russia has the power to 'end civilisation as we know it'.

More likely Eastern Europe will just return to the squabbling mess it always was, and the rest of the world will continue as new normal (masked and restricted).

Russia has the most nuclear stock in the world along with America .  Will take 1 hydrogen bomb which is 1000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima atom bomb and it would cast the globe into a nuclear winter for 4 years or more , massive radiation globally , destroy the ozone layer and halt agricultural farming for 20 years . I am not scare mongering , you can Google the facts . Finally , this part of the world would be the safest place to be to escape the effects , apparently .

Maybe ....... but unless the send them DHL/Fedex they no longer have a delivery system.

I'm not convinced their ICBMs ever worked in the first place, but now they're just holes in the ground filled with rusty worthless junk.

America always 'bigs' up their enemies in an attempt to justify their own excessive military budget.

But it's all just propaganda.

"peaceful gatherings in Thailand to demand end of war"

I dont know they had all these sort of gatherings last week in the town I grew up in back in England......

But Russia has guys these who can box trees and wrestle Bears, and the kids are taught to handle weapons when they are still at school....

Where I come from last time back we had Grown men wearing their hair in a bun & dancing on Tik-Toc

....and some identifying themselves as a Lady......

So I think its best we sit this one out.........................:w00t:
