True, other drivers maybe bad drivers but I find malicious road rage almost non existent in Thailand. Especially when compared to London and the UK. Jai yen yen... My Mrs warned me several times not to beep them or mess with them, got chased home for beeping my horn a couple of times... now I just suck it up. 2 1

Mansell Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Supposedly he honked his horn at a HiSo in. Mercedes. And the guy was <deleted> and shot him deliberately. A bit of a moron, if he’d hit him with the Mercedes he could have called it an accident. But he’s HiSo so probably nothing will happen to him. Very sad, and very very stupid. What do Thai people think the horn is for?
IvorBiggun2 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 If the shooter's family have money then he won't do much time.

Popular Post Mr Meeseeks Posted January 8, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2023 An English guy is shot dead and the usual defenders of the realm come on here arguing Thailand is better than UK or <insert other country here> . You couldn't make it up. A guy has lost his life due to an emotionally unstable, vicious and violent psychopath with a gun. Get a grip of yourselves. 2 1

As shown on CCTV, he was driving an aged Honda Civic fitted with a roof rack, that's how they identified him. Hi-so BS. 4

As I said, we will only ever get to know what the BiB release to the media, not just in this case, but in general. Many take that as fact, and it very well may be the truth, but not always. Just because the BiB announce it, doesn't always mean it's accurate, or factual. Sometimes, the facts can be altered for the judicial system, hence, the public, also. 3

Does not change the facts. Which apparently you are unaware of, you need to go back and read...the car chased the bike down. I got gossip last night that the guy had issues before, arguing with a neighbour and waving a gun about. He was apparently very capable with a gun and the family has a connection to an ex Pattaya official. I hope justice is done.... in some USA States I expect the death penalty could be on the table.

Which is silly, he actually had no reason to shoot him in the back! How do you know he provoked and abused... you have no idea, there is no evidence. One can be chased here for beeping your horn. The Thai man, who had shown hostility before, shot an unarmed man who was fleeing... I really do not see your perspective, perhaps you read too many comic books. 1 1
MRToMRT Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 It surprises me there is more in the Uk nationals and local press about what actually happened on the road and their coming together than in the Thai national press. Be careful out there guys. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11609131/Tuxedo-wearing-gun-fanatic-admits-shooting-British-pensioner-death-Thailand.html 2

Not surprising at all, foreigner lives are worthless to the Thai government. We all know the killer will get away with a trivial punishment, if any.

I hope that's not the case. 10 years ago in a more remote location, sure, that would be the case. But this case has already garnered so much international press that they cannot just sweep this under the rug, especially when they are touting Pattaya as a safe, family friendly, destination. Armed lunatics roaming the streets just waiting for foreigners to make a mistake so that they can be gunned down doesn't really bode well with that, in my opinion. This kind of an incident is not really a selling point to their precious Chinese tourists either. They are not used to gun violence in their own country. 3 1
