Is it too late for Trump to sue Stormy and get that money back? She broke the deal, should be some penalty on her part.

I think overall this is a sad situation.

I would love to see Trump in jail, but please for a real crime and not because he supposedly lied about a payment to a hooker.

He should have been prosecuted a long time ago for treason.

He should have been in jail for obstruction of justice.

There are so many real bad things this guy did that it is amazing that he is not in jail.

If he goes down basically because he f@$#%# that woman, then I understand why people are upset.

Jail him for something real! There are more than enough real reasons.

I'm pretty sure their strategy is to go slow but steady. First they brought charges against things in his vicinity and checked how that goes. The result was the conviction of the Trump Organization on 17 criminal charges and a few people around him. Now they are bringing criminal charges directly against him but starting with the smallest case. The hammer will fall later. It's a very delicate and unprecedented thing. They'll need to handle it carefully and strategically.

There are IMO plenty of former presidents that should have been in jail- Nixon for a start,

It's a shame that lowlife , and Kissinger where not convicted for war crimes committed against  Cambodia!

OK, look I like Trump but if he is guilty of anything then he should be prosecuted.

BUT, this is an incredibly bad prosecution - it is based on payments to a porn star for an alleged affair she says never happened, and the main witness (who made the payment from his own funds) has been put in prison for perjury and is on record as saying Trump was not involved and he would do anything to stay out of prison !!! Statute of limitation also has expired. It is also being done buy a heavily Democratic DA that ran on a 'get Trump' agenda in a heavily democratic state. No other legal body would touch this. This is pure politics to stop Trump. Even most of the people on here I would say can see this and would suggest going after him on other issues.

All that this will lead to is now is heavily republican states - say Florida and Desantis - deciding to get his DA to bring charges of bribery against Biden and Biden will be indicted too - and the case for bribery against Biden seems far stronger than to payments to a porn star, that she says never happened, paid by someone other than the person indicted !

This is truly a whole new world for US politics.

  • Popular Post

About time, this will only make him stronger. I bet if you took a poll now most Democrats would not want him indicted. Trump 2024 you can take that to the bank.

  • Popular Post

The NY case is more how DT tried to write-off the payment as a legal expense.

I still think the real show is in Georgia. If you read a transcript of the entire "just find 11000+ votes" hour-long JAN2021 phone call, well ...

Many people don't understand that it's not the hush money payments to the woman that are the issue. Those are not illegal. What is illegal and was done by Trump himself is the payments to his fixer Cohen that Trump disguised as payments for legal services that never existed and spread them out as monthly payments. This happened in 2016 during his first run. It was not disclosed what the charges are but they could be for example falsifying business records and campaign financing violations. We'll know soon.

I know that the US legal system sometimes imposes remarkably long sentences, but 2,024 years, even when parole is taken into account, seems an awfully long time for using campaign money to pay off a prostitute!

Will he be another Teflon Don? Will the republic be able to continue without him?

Will the United States of America still remain United? I can just imagine that the

news stories will be interesting for the next few weeks. The late night shows from ABC, CBS, and NBC will

be interesting as well.

That may well be illegal. BUT there are no links to that happening other than in the word of a perjurer that said in a signed statement he did it to protect Trump on his own volition. If you can show the e-mails or letters saying Trump said to do then feel free to post them here.

Biden will now refrain from any travel to a republican state for the next few years for fears of prosecution.

Trump will now be next president - much as I would like Desantis - his promotional posters will now be the arrest photos - especially if he is handcuffed. He will be seen as a rebel against a potentially corrupt system and will destroy Biden.

Hopefully Jim Jordan will get to see all the document and publish all the collusion going on. with the secret service and fbi in this case

It is not up to me to prove the case. It's the prosecution that will lay down the evidence to the jury.

It is clear though they are sure they have enough evidence or the grand jury wouldn't have indicted Trump. The rest is up to the courts.

FBI and Secret Service collusion? Didn't the Durham investigation completely fail at proving collusion at the FBI in regards to investigations of Trump? Despite his obviously being highly motivated to find it. As was his backer, William Barr.

I guess you are not a true student of history.

Al Capone, everyone knew he was a murderer, thief and racketeer but he had good lawyers and deniability so they got him for tax evasion. At least they got him.

Well there goes the argument ‘if Trump has done anything wrong why hasn’t he been indicted’.

The optics are indeed terrible. First the Mar-a-lago raid and now charges of illegally paying off a porn star. ???? What next? Arrested for illegally claiming expenses for a coffee at Starbuck's that he bought outside his hours of work? It looks like a witchhunt to remove him from the political arena any way they can.

Surely they could have found something better than this Stormy Daniels shenanigans?

Like Al Capone and tax law, it is the stupid things that bring you down.

It is not the payment itself that is the problem, it is the cover-up and exposure of other fraud that will be the issue

According to some reports around 30 counts of tax fraud and campaign payment violations

We don’t yet know what the NY indictments are, they’ve not been unsealed.

Feel free to imagine anything you like that offers you comfort.

There's 30 counts related to business fraud in the indictment and Trump is expected to appear in court next week. I wouldn't hold my breath on Trump being next president.........lol

Next up is his surrender, arraignment and arrest.

Finger printing and mug shots.

Then he gets put before a judge, the indictments are read and recorded and bail set.

The prosecution will have the opportunity to make arguments and present evidence for bail conditions.

Exhibit ‘A’ your honor, the accused’s social media posts intimidating the NYDA.

Trump is for the very first time in his life facing the authority of the Justice system.

He’s not going to enjoy this one bit.

I wonder, the mug shots, surely of genuine public interest.

Agree, It's an outrage that Kissinger is still a free man. Should have been in jail for life after that. However, I was restricting my comments to presidents.

well, do you have any actual evidence that it was Trump that put it up ? Or is it blame Trump for anything one of his workers may have done ?

Huffpost , Trump Lawyer

“I’m not his social media consultant,” Tacopina said. “I think that was an ill-advised post that one of his social media people put up, and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric and the photo that was attached to it.”
