Female Aussie shoplifter arrested in Chiang Mai - she stole 100B sunnies

Police in Chiang Mai have announced the arrest of a 38 year old Australian shoplifter who stole six cheap items from a store in the Chang Moi, Muang area.

 

Emily C. was traced after she got into a white Toyota Prius and went to her hotel where she had been staying for a number of days. 

 

Her haul included 5 pairs of sunglasses worth 100 baht each and a 150 baht purse.

The theft had been reported to police by the shop owner, Pim, 32, on June 10th. 

 

The Australian has been charged with theft using a conveyance in pursuit of the crime.

She's not Thai and she didn't massacred family of 5 with her Fortuner while high on ya-ba. So wai & 500 fine is not an option here.

Ok now for the serious part of the topic. Just stupid what she did. Not sure what kind of punishment she deserves but its just stupid to steal or commit crimes in an other country.

She will go to a nunnery for 15 days, after which she will prostrate herself and krap at the feet of the store owner. All good, and released into society with a Sinead O'Connor hair cut.

Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie, Oi, Oi, Oi, obviously another quality bogan, deport her straight away, black listed for life, never to return, and let her stay in hotel quarantine back in the land of Oz for 14 days, that should do it, then again there is the Bangkok Hilton, but if they allow Thai's to wai and pay a 500 baht fine, she should be entitled to say it was "all a misunderstanding" too, good luck with that, more chances of going to the Bangkok Hilton, because shaming a foreigner over such petty crimes is more of an ego boost for some, you see, another farang, no disease, but a farang  ????

 

Silly woman, no sympathy from me, you just don't do $hit like this in another country let alone your own !

It's Thailand's fault !

If Thailand wasn't here, she wouldn't have travelled here, therefore she wouldn't have shoplifted anything !

Meanwhile - amazing that the CCTV was working. I thought they were all decoys, which is why usually when something happens the first thing they say is "CCTV was not working".

I guess it depends on who the culprit is/was.

The term "Sunnies" through me because I hadn't heard that before. I have heard sunglasses called shades though. Is this some kind of regional slang. I seems to have be added by Web Facts so maybe they just trying to be cute.
