No accounting for how movies are rated.

I watched "In my father's den" recently. It won awards and was rated well.

I disliked it, and there wasn't one character that I liked in the entire movie. It was so boring that I almost turned it off after struggling for half the movie. It did get a bit more interesting last half, but I'm glad I didn't pay much to see it. I wouldn't even rate it, it was so bad IMO.

The scenery was nice and it was very well made, but a nasty plot and horrid characters.

This one looks interesting but I don't think it's out yet.

Lucky for the 6 year old girl her bikini grew with her when she turned into an adult.

BTW, the latest ( Craig ) Bond movie hasn't even been shown in NZ yet. Anyone seen it and if so, is it worth the money to see it?

No Time to Die is scheduled to be released in theatres in the U.K. on September 30th, 2021, and on October 8th, 2021 in the United States. That is assuming those release dates hold, of course.

The movie about Mary, Queen of Scots had a black actor playing a Scottish nobleman. The justification that I read from someone in the movie was pathetic. If trying to make an historical movie the least that can be done is have actors that fit the parts.

It's all the same sort of BS that is having a discussion about a female 007.

Money? To see a film?

Obviously made from the same material as the Hulk's shorts.

Just started watching Eden - Australian crime drama.

The guardian gave it a good beating, IMDb reviews are a bit more encouraging.

Im surprised no one has mentioned clarkesons farm - worth a watch.

The Unusual Suspects---ABC (Oz) TV--Mini series 4 episodes (comedy/Drama/Mystery)

*Blurb--Follows the theft of a multi-million-dollar necklace and the women from different walks of life who come together to ensure that justice is served.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Not the stuff I would usually post---but IMDB has given it a 8.1--I have not yet watched

Available now on Lime.

Wow more encouraging ??????

IMDB

"The worse piece of trash Television I have had the misfortune to watch in decades.
The best part is that Episode 1 is so bad, there is not a reason to ever watch a single second ever again. Eden is so bad that I will be cancelling my subscription to Stan, just to avoid the possibility that in some drunken haze I accidentally see the name in the listings. Thank me later, don't be tempted to even waste 60 seconds on this dog's vomit. I believe this show gave me optical cancer.--I've enjoyed crushing my fingers in a car door jam more".

-------------------

Well the Filming Locations are in Byron Bay & some in Surfers Paradise-- so I will have to have a peep---might just see my house---Oh sorry, My Wife's House..........????

lol .. c’mon man, you had to look right to the bottom of the page to find that one star ..

 10/10
Stick with it
I hated the first episode. It seemed stupid and pretentious and none of the characters were likeable (giving them all ridiculous names didn't help). I gave the se.cond episode a chance and it got better. By the fifth I was hooked. It does take a while to find its stride but once it does is pretty gripping viewing. The acting was pretty good overall (Keiynan Lonsdale was the standout) and it looked beautiful. The ending was unexpected but not in a ridiculous way and was quite poignant. If you can stick past the first episode or two you'll be pleased you gave the show a chance.

 8/10
Binged in one day
Loved it - very gripping. Great ending too! A good dark and sensual mystery thriller.

 8/10
Very Bingeable
I realise this has had some bad reviews but I have tio admit I was hooked right the way through and really enjoyed this series ...

The main “drunken bum” detective character appealed to me.

No Honestly recom273--it was the one they were showing when I went to IMDB to look...so I went back to look again to check -& they have replaced that 1 star with this 1 star report.....

About as interesting as someone describing their dream in detail upon waking. Especially if that person is some random backpacker in a YMCA dorm.Snoooooze. Couldn't get through first ep. It's like the most boring music video ever..

Check it out-- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14445502/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

555 .. Must be targeted .. It seems to get decent reviews on the whole, just a few bad ones.

I put Eden on ice, and have been catching up on traces from 2019 - I watched the first episode a long time while ago and didn’t think too much,  i rewatched the first and currently binging in the rest.

I prefer to see a movie in a cinema where it was designed to be seen, not on a small screen. I'm happy to pay for the real thing.

Exactly, the theater in my home town installed reclining seats. The theater experience tops watching at home.

Just watching episode 1 Liverpool Narcos - interesting sky documentary, has modern interviews, intercut with retro video and modern re-enactments.

So I guess you and others with this opinion are just as irate about male actors playing female parts in the old theatre... and white dudes playing virtually every person of colour up to the 70s... or Even the 90s Mike Meyers abomination, the Love Guru... I mean the "least they could have done is have actors that fit the parts", eh?
