Thai PM postpones vaccine jab indefinitely due to technical problem

Prayut-Sinovac.jpg

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s planned injection of AstraZeneca vaccine, scheduled for 7.30am on Sunday, has been postponed indefinitely due to a technical problem.

An official, attached to Government House’s spokesman’s office, said today that the Disease Control Department of the Ministry of Public Health had notified Government House of the postponement, which is due to the lack of letter of certification from the British pharmaceutical Company, AstraZeneca, covering the first shipment of 117,600 doses to Thailand.

He explained that this particular shipment came from South Korea. Although there is a letter of certification from AstraZeneca, but it was intended for South Korea, it will need a documentation from AstraZeneca specific to Thailand.

...and the Thai vaccine farce continues. If they'd had the foresight to be part of Covax then they would already be administering hundreds of thousands of shots.

  • His Chinese masters friends objected to him using the Az jab perhaps?

I certainly want the vaccine but they all need specific storage and transport requirements.

At this point I do not trust how any of this will be handled here.

...:clap2:... yo AZ, who hasn't been there already?!

Now, also throw in various passport copies and perhaps of your last dozen TM 30s as well, will spare you looking for a copy shop in a haste later, trust me!

Postponed indefinitely ....that creates a lot of confidence for the Thai population,

how long would it take them to get the proper letter of certification from AstraZeneca,

never it seems....will they dump the 117,600 doses

In how many countries is the AV vaccine ldocumented as being OK?

An email from AV would take......10 seconds!

...if there ever was any Astra Zeneca vaccines.

Only the Sinovac got a hero's welcome.

Only the Sinovac has been seen unloading from aircraft.

AZ vaccine turned up completely by surprise after the 50,000 from Italy got caught up in a Euro delivery issue.

There was never any mention of an AZ from Korea.

Perhaps the reason it is "indefinitely postponed" is that it never actually arrived.

Not as daft as what we think he is.

Daughters probably had a word. Or he's a closet David Icke disciple.

Distinct lack of administration if they didn't see this one coming .................LOL

No wonder Thailand is becoming one of the last countries in the world to have a vaccine.  Playing these games will get the country no where.  How are they going to get a tourist center if they don't get people the vaccine.  The people don't want to die because of the government not being able to do their job.  Quite and turn it over to someone who will handle the situation.

They can't figure out how to vaccinate one person.

Good luck with ~ 69 m.

Technical problem solved.…it has just been announced that Army Private Somchai has volunteered to take the shot for the gun-shy Hero-General.

As usual the experts on this forum think they have all the answers.

BRUSSELS — In vaccine-hungry, cash-rich Europe, the hunt for more doses has nations trading with each other, weighing purchases from Russia and China, and fielding offers from middlemen ranging from real to outright frauds.

A technical problem??? seems a more administrative problem... but who cares.. PM maybe wants Pfizer what is proven to be the best... but he can get it not in Thailand... so.. let the Thai people test the Chinese and the corrupted South Korean vaccins try out and the PM will get his somewhere else

Dump what? They've probably already been sold.

...meanwhile, almost 30% of the UK population have have their 1st dose of vaccine. Either Prayut is afraid of the vaccine, or there isn't actually any vaccine here, or he just wants to prolong re-opening the country to pesky foreigners and keep Thais under restrictions for longer. What else could the real reason be?

All of this continues to give more weight to the story that AZ pulled out of the deal due to reasons that have been suppressed.

what if siam biosciense is not happy with this emergency order and are blocking this and possible next imports?

there suppose to be 200k, later reduced to 150k, so certainly there should be coming more, but they want to close this opportunity.

possible bioscience do realise, that their production line is not efficient and there would be delay, but they don't want competition from another producer.

That looks this way.
