July will be a critical month for the Thai health system – Rural Doctor Society

Next month will be critical for the Thai health system, because hospitals will be overwhelmed and there won’t be enough beds to accommodate the increasing number of COVID-19 patients. Worse still, only about half of the 15 million doses of vaccines expected for the July will actually arrive, according to the Rural Doctor Society RDS).

In its Facebook post today (Sunday), the RDS said that COVID-19 infections are spreading, not just in Bangkok but in several other provinces as well, straining the healthcare system to the extent that patients have outnumbered hospital beds, resulting in them being kept at home awaiting admission.

With the ICU facilities fully occupied, severe cases who need urgent medical treatment will not survive and this is being reflected in the daily increase in fatalities, said the society.

I wonder how many of those waiting for an ICU bed will die, be whisked off to the local monk establishments and burned before being added to the daily covid deaths ?

This doesn't just apply to COVID cases either.  ICU beds needed for any reason are in this category.

And to think it's like this with lockdowns.  Imagine there are imbeciles who think that lockdowns aren't necessary.

If they are getting out now they are getting out before they have likely been exposed to the Delta bug. If they wait a few more months and then get out, that may not likely be the case.

Well perhaps this government will finally get what it's incompetence and corruption was surely only ever going to achieve. Massive infection of the rural poor that they and the elite have always despised.

The western Doct-star are saying next October.

Obviously the narrative will push to create tension and confrontation between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.

This is the classic strategy of manipulation of the masses: divide et impera. That is to create clash between two social groups.

The media system propaganda will make the masses believe that the cases of positivity are increasing because there are still some moron, ignorant,  who do not want to vaccinate and are a serious danger to public health and national security.

Well one thing the rural poor have going for them is an efficient follow-up on the recent arrivals:

Very true and I posted in another thread that is exactly what they have been doing in my area for months. They did it last year and re-started checking just before SongKran as well as voluntary quarantine by those returning from badly infected areas.

Calling people imbeciles because  they  have  a different opinion ain't so nice.

Unmentionable newspaper just reported Beta variant detected in Bangkok, apparently linked to Narathiwat cluster.

Sydney went into a two week lockdown over a few dozen cases. Bangkok's malls and mass transit are open as usual. Only in-house dining at restaurants has been banned. This government is hopeless.

Lockdown works if enforced and people play their part. However that rarely occur, giving people excuses to play down it's efficiency.

Lockdown didn’t cure my bad back, so they certainly didn’t work there.

people forget what a lockdown is intended to do. Slow growth in cases to buy time for vaccines to be deployed. They are not a panacea for all things Covid.

Lockdowns have worked very successfully in Australia and New Zealand and many other countries and cities. Might as well say I can't see the forest because the trees are in the way.

The imbeciles think that the lockdowns, certainly as currently imposed, are unnecessary. Some places closed, others open and crammed with no precautions in place.

Yes that is all lock downs do to slow growth nothing else nothing more. But they are essential to keep numbers under control and then with a vaccine counter covid. That is the only known way for now.

Then you still got people who call you non fun loving when you say that bars should not open. Cases rising hospitals are now at risk of overcrowding but a large part of this forum would open the bars up tonight.

provide an analysis of the New Zealand and Australia Covid position and their use of lockdowns.

well if you are going to have the ridiculous policy of anyone who tests positive has to stay in hospital for 2 weeks even if they have no symptoms . then you will be overrun.  absurd

I'm sure the massive amount of tourist we are getting in July, would like to see this?

People just don't want to waste too much time with the tinfoil hat brigade. Its hard to keep educating the uneducated. Even if you prove your right they just hop on the next alternative theory. So i get it why he is not speedy to get back to you.

As you may not have noticed, it's not about hospitals being overrun per se. It's rather about there not being enough critical care beds. That's a far more serious issue.

  • Popular Post

They messed up already and now they have the consequences. Not enough vaccines, to late started with the vaccination, back working vaccines, delaying of more effective vaccines, the allowed travelling with Songkran, refuse to lockdown, as in Europe there was almost a lockdown for 6 months, Not serious ill people in quarantine in hospitals taking beds for ones who need them,  An Incompetent government , they think they are gods and know everything, making false statements to keep the people quiet, like reopen the Phuket Sandbox, which will be doomed to death,  and so on and so. We are standing at the beginning. It will be far more worse..

  • Popular Post

I'm sure Prayut and Anutin also think that July will be a critical month, but only because they're concerned about the Phuket sandbox startup. Hospitals overflowing with Covid patients and thousands of people dying, don't bother them with tedious details, getting foreign tourists and their money back is all that matters.

So, July deliveries of AZ and Sinovac are going to be half of what they were suppose to be, according to the article.  All the more reason to order emergency stepped-up delivery of vaccines from the US--which is awash in millions of vaccines available.

Well the Thai authorities will be hoping no bad news for Phuket

In Corivirus numbers rising on its opening day 1st July

All the Tourists arriving will be looking forwith to the  restaurants and bars open ????

With so few vaccines coming in July I can assume they will mostly be taken by influential people with contacts within the government.

I wonder whats going to happen to the people who have a second vaccine scheduled?  Theres not going to be enough.

Al Jazeera this morning reported that the Delta has mutated into what they call the Delta+ mutation.

  • Popular Post

I wonder how many infections and deaths could be prevented if the country had a real vaccination program administered and controlled by medical professionals instead of incompetent and corrupt politicians?
