There is no disease where you can say that it will kill you - even Ebola doesn't kill everyone it infects.

The thing with Covid-19 is, it can still kill you, whether you thought it would or not. It may have a relatively low mortality rate compared to some diseases but it also has a higher fatality rate than some others (flu, for example).

A good number of the people it has killed were perfectly healthy, young people who almost certainly didn't think it would kill them if they got it. And yet it still did.

Thinking you're immune doesn't make it so.

Even as someone who is fully vaccinated, I still think your point is dumb.

It isn't about us banding together and cutting off our nuts for the sake of ending some situation.

People should be getting vaccinated to protect themselves from death, that's it.

If we are such do-gooders why not actually help Africa? Or give out free motorcycle helmets to teenagers? Or give free swimming lessons to children? Maybe stop fishing? Go vegan?

People don't really care.

You just want others to get vaccinated so you can have a normal life again and happily go around ignoring all the suffering that doesn't affect you.

I disagree, the objective is to have our lives back how they were. The less covid is around the easier that is. Its proven that vaccinated people spread it less get less in hospitals ect ect. So those who don't get vaccinated (besides if they have health reasons) are part of the problem.

Of course, the unvaccinated may not die from Covid infection.

Similarly, there are many people who play Russian roulette and survive.

So, what's your point? Being unvaccinated is stupid, and so is playing Russian roulette.

Good analogy....Even with 85% vaxed.....That leaves 1 bullet out of every 6 contacts/trigger pulls....

Which still means 15 people out of every 100 are, by %, endangering themselves and those around them....

It would be my guess that non vaxers also are the one's walking around unmasked/masks askew, not distancing, or following protocols....

Given the massive government debt incurred compensating people lost their livelihoods through lockdowns, I doubt lives will ever be "back to how they were" for many of us. Inflation and shortages are already in evidence.

Come on. You seem to ignore the point vaccines not only help you, but others as well. You really need a better source for your news.

Figures. You only get your information from dodgy websites. This scientist has been debunked. Sadly, he's praised by the anti vaxxers.

Life will be back to normal eventually but yes there is higher inflation and many have problems. Still we are on our way out. Many of my clients are making more money again.

But point being the faster we get out of this the better. Vaccination is key.

Haven't all the high risk people been vaccinated already? Doesn't that do a reasonably good job of preventing serious illness and death from a covid infection?

No, they haven't - and that's the point. Many of the most vulnerable are the immuno-compromised. They can't get vaccinated, precisely because their immune systems are severely impaired or non-existent (for various different reasons). They rely on other people being vaccinated to reduce the overall risk of them getting infected.

Let me see if you can grasp this.

Vaccination programs are instigated by governments, they have an objective in mind when doing so.

That objective is not as you so eloquently put it ‘banding together and cutting our nuts off’.

The objective is to drive down infections, illness, hospitalizations, deaths and the associated social and economic impacts these have.

The vaccinated are doing their bit, the unvaccinated are not.

Your ludicrous strawmen arguments are noted for what they are.

My entire family had it in Jan 2020 ............ we all survived and for 3 out of 4 it was no worse than the flu.

My misses aged 40 had it worse sweating for 10 days, my step-daughter age 22 had no symptoms at all.

No hospitals or medicine required.

As the CDC freely admits the vaccines neither prevent catching or transmitting the disease, I fail to see how the unvaccinated can be considered a danger to anyone but themselves.

Would point to the news post claiming 12 vaccinated staff at a Hua Hin restaurant all had COVID.

But tell that to those who have lost someone from a vaccine which is still being tested (on us) for safety.

But others may suffer death from the vaccine. Children too. A vaccine that isn't for them, but for others. Are you kidding?

For the record, I am fully vaccinated, by the way. But I ain't blind.

There is no unified ‘world response’, the response differs depending where you look, often widely within a single nation.

I’ve not been ‘locked up’ and I don’t know anyone who has.

The vaccines are not under test, away with you and your secondhand misinformation.

How was the vaccine tested, if not (currently) on us?

People have not been able to work or study. They have lost their education and livelihood. Children unable to socialize. Family members not allowed to visit each other. Glad you are ok though, buddy.

Actually in Australia, people have been fined thousands of dollars for being in their car at night on the road without evidence of good reason.

I have seen videos of people being beaten and arrested for standing on their own porch having a cigarette (Australia). Basically house arrest, locked up.

People have been isolated and suffered with mental health, especially with lack of livelihood. People have been made homeless and gone hungry (here too).

Helping others is fine, but there are risks with all vaccines - especially ones still in ginnea pig phase.

Educate yourself and be at ease the the vaccination process:-

Approved and Authorized Vaccines

Below are the vaccines that are approved and authorized in the United States to prevent COVID-19:

Pfizer-BioNTech
Moderna
Johnson & Johnson / Janssen

The vaccines have been tested and fully authorized for use, they are not now because no tested.

People have died, children orphaned, odd you missed that bit out.

People are often fined for breaking the law, people who comply with the law not so much.

I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of videos.

Again, others have died, children have been orphaned.

Sums nothing up, rather you’ve just demonstrated the point that there is no unified world response, it all depends on where you look.

But here’s a thing (and to get you back on topic), the route to ending this pandemic is via vaccination.

If you want to pick an argument on the terrible consequences of this pandemic have a go at the anti-mask, anti-public health measures, anti-vaccine crowd.

We all want an end to it, some are willing to do their bit, others are not.

It used to take five weeks to cross the Atlantic, technology changed and it can now be for in a handful of hours.

I find myself asking the same question.

Clearly, you don’t know how clinical trials function.

Polio was a savage killer of children back in the day. Clinical trials were conducted, with some children vaccinated, to prove efficacy of the vaccine. As a result, millions of lives were saved, and Polio was virtually eradicated.

Complete emotional frenzy.

find myself agreeing BOTH with Chomper and 2009.

2009 nails the natural correct selfish reason to vaxx ….Personal Survival.

Let Others ( Strangers after all) Worry About Others.

Chomper nails correctly the collective responsibilty aspect, which for me, is less important. I would kill an unlimited number of strangers to save my young son. But let us pass Laws to enact collective protection against the unvaxxed.

You lie.

CDC states that vaccines significantly reduce the danger of infection by the virus.
