Country of departure or nationality??

The country you are in when you start your trip to here. There will probably be a minimum number of days in that country to qualify (maybe 14 or 21 days).

DHut and Fusion58 - I have the same problem. My COE has now been pre-approved to fly on Nov 4th arriving 5th. I have to upload a few more documents then it's done with hopefully.

I intend to try and complete that AND apply for the 'Thailand Pass' in addition, to cover it both ways as soon as it becomes online. Just can't do anymore.

Hoping for some clarity on how to proceed. They'll have to be sharp with the data and instructions if I am to do the Pass but we'll see.

Hoping for some clarity asap I'd add !!!!

Any thoughts ?

Wonder how long it will take the clowns who run the show here to understand that there are other countries with more friendlier rules that the tourists are going to instead of Thailand?

Their intent is not to chose countries that have the least incidence of Covid, even if they say that.

Their intent is allowed countries that have a low incidence of covid, and will produce the most tourists.

If you nolice , all the countries chosen are where most of their tourists come from.

My problem is , who do I argue with when their automated web system rejects a document.

When I did my CoE last spring, by Covid insurance was rejected because it did not say  100 k coverage. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they will not write that,

What they say is Unlimited Coverage.  They are not at liberty to write in their own verbiage.

I had to call the Embassy and argue with them that surely Unlimited coverage was better that 100k coverage, and they relented,

How do I resolve that issue , now? Will there be an option to bypass the portal and go to a live person with override power. ??

I guess we will see when it happens,

What if you’re on the retirement extension that doesn’t require insurance

ANY arrivals need COVID insurance for the value of $100k.

so no matter what insurance you have, it must state COVID coverage for the sum of $100K

SHA+ does not equal testing, nor does it mean expensive. Hotels which obtain SHA+ certificate have fully vaccinated staff, follow defined health procedures such as disinfecting certain areas regularly, and have a set and working process in case a guest falls ill including transportation to a hospital. The cheapest SHA+ 4* hotel in Phuket I observed last week was 390 Baht per night for 2 not including breakfast, not exactly a rip off.

When arrive to norway and ur fully vaccinated ur free to go wherever u want.If u need a PCR test u can get it free in the airport and rhe result come shortly. The PCR test before leaving norway is also free in many places.Every official teststations its free.I have never paid for any PCR test here. And the phizer vaccine is free.

There is no such thing as free.

Has anybody recently been through the COE process , giving the details for 1 night stay and one paid for PCR test, arriving after the 1st of November and been approved. I have a friend and they have booked a flight on the 3rd November and are concerned about 7 days quarantine through the COE process. My concern is I did the sand box for 14 days after day 3 this was converted to 7 days ... I could not leave the hotels early and still had to go through 3 PCR tests, whereas people 3 days later than could leave in 7 and get a PCR refund on one of the tests... any views, thought , comments

Their COE will not be approved as nothing related to "no-quarantine" entry has been finalized yet.

Our advice would be to delay your trip until this program has been fully fleshed out to avoid any issues, or go through the existing entry options.

So no quarantine, why SHA+!  Your arriving double vac, health insurance, and negative test prior to departure. Surely could get a test anywhere day 2, or on arrival, and stay where you please with app for location.

Yes but there is not much money to grabbed from that. They just don't want to let go of that cash cow

Who stopped you leaving?

.....  although you had done this in your home country before leaving by plane (otherwise you cannot leave by plane)?

I repeat it again and again: the ugly ThAI military government wants to make money of the covid disaster, as much as possible. This is only one example of many. I'm sure, those hotels have to "deliver" sonme bahts in their pockets.

Right. What I’m wondering is whether my COE (issued in October) will still be accepted when I arrive at BKK on 12 November, or whether I will be expected, sometime between now and then, to start over from scratch and apply for the “Thailand Pass?”

If I was you, I would be contacting the SHA+ you have booked and ask them to move you to the 1 Day Package and request a refund for the previous reservation. Once confirmed, I would follow the Thailand Pass process when available for your 12th Nov trip. You have plenty of time, why take any chances and secure your refund in the meantime.

Words from someone who is travelling on 21st Oct and doing 7 Day SHA+ in Bangkok!! Probably one of the last but had to make plans and who knew when they would eventually move to No Quarantine! The joys.....

Who stopped us leaving ??  Not sure whether the hotel could have stopped us , however the hotel told we had to stay, not a problem as we had paid for it anyway . However the hotel did  have to give us a letter saying we had completed quarantine with tests , and my misses informed me she had to show this letter at the Thai airways checkin desk when we flew from Phuket to Bangkok.

this might have been different if we had been in Bangkok and left by road and I suppose the hotel could inform the authorities if someone leaves early !!! Maybe a small payment may bypass that obstacle if it is one ...

Thai problem:

is Unlimited Coverage more or less than $100K ??? :cheesy:. They didn't learn it at school or university.

I flew to Greece. Uploaded my vaccine card and flight info and was done. They checked the app showing everything was ok and off I went.

Thailand needs to get it's act together with regards to fully vaccinated people.

STILL QUARANTINE though isn't it when "box" says no quarantine

vaccinated  tourist are unlikely to want to put up with this, especially when  combined with a "scrapped" COE  thats nowhere near scrapped

SHA+ in Bangkok?  When did/does that start?

Another reason to worry about the successful implementation of the Thailand Pass scheme is that it is also intended to integrate the TM6 and T8 forms into the app.  If anyone remembers the last attempt at automating the TM6 they'll know what I mean.

Remember, there have been repeated statements by officials, that things may be conditional on the areas reaching 70% vaccination rate.   Quite a ways to go to reach that in any short amount of time

fair enough and a good post. But the risk is that extra PCR test upon arrival.  Why need that when one is vaccinated and one already had a negative PCR test before getting on the airline and traveling to Thailand.  The risk of a false positive, or a scam false positive exists and then one gets dragged off to someplace else.  When one prepares for and plans for a holiday as most people have to, they don't want any big disruptions.  Having to be then quarantined another 14 days some where could cost people more than just money.  Some employers are not tolerant of missing employees, some people have house sitting arrangements, pet boarding, even children put up with friends or relatves, car storage and many other things

Nope.  Glad I got in under known conditions rather than waiting for what might happen or might not.

The up to 72 hours since the test before you fly and any transit stop (if they even allow them) on the way expose you to risk, and the test on arrival is a quick and painless way to introduce another degree of safety into the process.

it does NOT introduce any degree of safety.  Safety to who?  The traveler is alredy vaccinated. If un vaccinated are worried then go get vaccinated. Do not try to justify anything the flip flopping Thai officials throw out there. Most countries only require the one negative test prior to arrival.  The extra test on arrival is just a money grab

I was not trying to justify it but to put forward a reason for it.  We all know by now that vaccinated people can still catch and pass on the virus, even if the chances are much less than unvaccinated.  All actions to reduce case numbers contribute to the overall picture so even this will help.

It's only a few days since the UK removed before travel testing (still has after) and we're much further down the road to recovery than Thailand, so I may not like it but can understand why they do it, money grab aside.

I arrive into Bangkok 22nd October. Flights, Insurance, PCR test, SHA+ package & condo deposit 1 month all paid out weeks ago so no point cancelling. Just need to take the hit!

Which embassy approved your COE? My understanding was that the Bangkok sandbox, planned for October 16, never happened, and thus arrival in Bangkok still required ASQ (albeit now reduced to seven or 10 days, depending on vaccination status).

We are at cross purposes somehow. I’m doing ASQ 7 days on arrival on the 22nd October in Bangkok at an SHA+ hotel.

My CoE was issued by The Thai embassy in London.
