Thong Lor Police arrested 61 people after carrying out a raid at a bar on Sukhumvit Soi 23.

 

Police said they received a tip off that alcohol was being served on the 2nd floor of the bar.

 

Upon visiting the premises, police said that as well as finding alcohol being served, many people were dancing, increasing the risk of spreading COVID-19. 

 

Police said they found receipts which confirmed the sale of alcohol. 

 

Police said they arrested 61 people in total, 26 men and 35 women, all of whom were charged with violating the emergency decree and Communicable Diseases Act.

 

The bar's owner was also charged with serving alcohol.

 

Those arrested were taken to Thong Lor Police Station for processing.

The courts are going to be busy with all these bars getting raided

with alcohol having the same status as drugs a lot of people will be criminalized, a lot of real criminals will get rich and the brown shirts get even more corrupt.

As far I can see this is crazy house or nearby, which is mostly owned by police themselves (…..).

I lived in Soi 23 for a while to me its Sukhumvit, unless there is a soi 23 around Thonglor

It falls under the ambit of the Thonglor police. The lower soi numbers come under the Lumpini police. Sukhumvit is divided between the two.

Thong lor was not soi 23 when I lived in Bkk. 

Soi 23 was soi cowboy

No, it's generally the Asoke area... However, the jurisdiction area of the Thong Lor police station extends well beyond the specific neighborhood known as Thong Lor.

Yeah, I agree.  I have to admit that I bought a couple of wife beaters just for those times I wanted to disguise myself as an auzzie .....  mate.

Dollars to donuts the BIB and the civic leaders have "private establishments" where they can go to imbibe and to get their weasels greased.

Just another case of the owner not paying the corrupt cops.  Now they will try to get money from those arrested to not take the case to court.
