If there ever was a reason to use an agent for those who meet the requirements, here it is!

I pitty my friend who was flying in these days with visa exempt 30 days because it was impossible to get an appointment dor a visa application in Germany and who has now to go there for a non-o.

Crazy!

Thank you for the up to date pics.

It's always busy on a Monday after a holiday but still surprising.

Then knowing that, I wonder why people go on a Monday after a holiday. It seems pretty easy just to avoid the obviously busy times, unless they just don't care about queuing in the sun.

About me, I went in November to get my visa and they stamped in my passport: "return December 13th".

I tried to go before, but they rejected me saying that passport clearly displays December 13th.

So I must go today.

They finally kept my passport, gave me a plastic card with a number and said that I must return tomorrow again to pick my passport.

That is one reason why I use an agent and just get on with life until its ready to collect from him.

Are you sure agents can go straight inside now  in immigration  their Omicron fear time ?..... might be ...????

But now an opportunity  for agents to charge extra for  "que Omicron danger time".... ????????

Choose your home province wisely.  Hua Hin, PKK is bad enough, though only couple hours on bad day for extending.

Still won't use an agent, charging something like 10k and up, depending on what you do or don't have.

I can sit there for $100-300 USD an hour and UP.  Save all my internet reading till I get there, passes the time quick enough.

I agree I've used one for over 10 years and why people do not for the small $$$  involved is beyond me.

Because some might not like to be " hooked  on them year after year"  as bankfiles don't lie ....

(this only if for the no 800K available... agent users ) ,

For those who have the 800K and just need the agent assistance ...this has no bad trace on their file

When I do my 90 day pulse checks, at local office, I'm usually the only one there, or he'll take me right away, while he's working on something else.  Shame they don't do extensions at that office.

What's a small amount of ฿฿฿ ?  Feel free to answer in msg, if not want to post here.  I'm 100 kms from Imm office, though good reason to visit HH, sometime it's a bit much, especially since needing to take a witness with us.

But why not use them in future years do tell!

Never go to any government department anywhere in the known universe on a Monday, especially if after a holiday.

Government officials are naturally lethargic (it's a pre-requisite for employment) and on Monday mornings all civil servants inevitably suffer from Monday-itis Syndrome.  They are slower than usual (hard to believe I know), and if they can find a way to make things difficult for you, they will.  Their desire to achieve nothing is only exceeded by their constant need to exercise their pettiness and feel smug at your expense.

Tuesday is not much better because of Tuesday-itis.  Similar to Monday-itis but not as bad in severity.

Thursday is internationally known as the best day to bestow your presence in front of civil servants, especially in the mid-afternoon.  By that stage all the lethargy they've exuded in the prior 3 1/2 days makes them realise they'd better achieve something before 5pm Friday, so they shift into 2nd gear and speed things up.

This is the time when they will let a few minor issues slide because they've fulfilled their smugness quota for the week and they are looking forward to the upcoming weekend.  They go into cruise control and provided you don't hit them with a pitching wedge you can get away with lots more than on a Monday.

Fridays are a toss-up and can literally go either way depending on their weekend plans. The only advice I can offer is  if you are able, try and be the person after the person that gives them real grief and argues with them.  You stand a chance of a free pass because your documentation is only 5% wrong and not totally wrong.

The above is paraphrased from The International Bureaucrats Handbook and Official Modus Operandi.

Your post had me on the phone..... I have the bank deposit and said I would get the bank letter and was told 10,000 baht. Not really small.....

there for my marriage visa ,tomorrow ,hope its as quick as last year .

Crazy. If I saw that length of queue I'd simply walk away and return home, even in the non-Covid times. OK, if you're on the last day for making a 90-day or extending your visa then you don't have any choice, but why would you wait until the very last moment to do these things that are both important and completely predictable in their timing?

Sometimes one is against the wall because a passport renewal, one was expecting to take 3-4 weeks, took 11-12. This is not funny, many people applying for retirement extensions may not have the health to  stand out in the sun for many hours. Not a nice way to treat people.

Sounds like that was a 'try on'. Retirement extensions without the funds cost from 13,000 baht. Pushing paper only is much less.

True dat.

Never seen more than two customers at the S.Kolok Immigration office in my five years in Thailand.
