But not too keen to agree with Ukrainians fighting for the liberty of their own country.

Over emotional suicide,  live to solve the future later there's no country coming to help them.

... on the other hand russian Sberbank closes down in Europe, good riddance.

That might hurt your average savings customer in mostly former soviet union member states where several smaller institutes have been taken over by Sberbank over about the last decade ... depends on the local consumer protection in that regard, if any.

Can only hope that they also had a lot of dosh loaned out there, 555 ...

Oh, btw. closing down everywhere but Switzerland, hollarehdulliöhhh ... now, where will tovarish Vladovaz have his secret 'little' bug out bank account one might wonder ...?!

Hello? Switzerland?

There's a health aspect to this unfolding tragedy also, as per Johns Hopkins March 3 COVID update:

"The WHO warned on February 27 the country [Ukraine] has dangerously low supplies of medical oxygen, a key tool in treating people hospitalized with COVID-19 and other diseases. The agency announced its first shipment of medical aid for Ukraine will arrive in Poland today, but details about last-mile delivery to Ukrainians in need remain unclear."

Meanwhile, the WHO under WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus, in its statement about the situation (Russia's invasion of Ukraine) "avoided naming Russia as an aggressor during their press conference, instead focusing on calls to stop attacks on civilians and medical institutions."

Ghebreyesus' WHO, back to its old China-COVID tricks, ever deferring to autocracies...  So, the United Nations can/did condemn Russia's invasion, but the WHO won't.

I suspect as a hero who led from the front lines despite not getting the support he needed from the west in terms of enough military aid.

We already know how Putin will be remembered...........

I would say a leader who believed in the west and put his people to the sword over false promises.

He has been asking for a no fly zone, next time he might choose his friends differently.

What kind of reset would that be? The kind that Putin is in the process of executing?

It means what it says, war criminal.

The UN security Council meeting was vetoed by Russia as a result they voted on Sunday to call for a rare emergency special session of the 193-member UN General Assembly on Russia’s invasion. Only 10 such emergency special sessions of the General Assembly have been convened since 1950.

That text gives the Assembly the power to take up matters of international peace and security when the Security Council is unable to act because of the lack of unanimity among its five veto-wielding permanent members. The result of that vote we already know, demand that Russia end ‘aggression against Ukraine’

The ICC, International Criminal Court team have already headed to Ukraine for the war crimes investigation. Plenty of evidence with the cluster bombs and residential shelling, some urban area's look like Syria.

So there is bureaucracy but what do you expect when 193 member nations have to get together quickly but they have moved fast, probably faster than ever before.

Nato was clear from the beginning that they could not enforce a no fly zone, the risk of all out WW3 being far too great especially when the madman upped the anti by putting the nukes on high alert level.

Its a very difficult debate to say whether they should enforce one.

Im positive Nato will intervene at some point. Just listen to Stoltenberg whole speach today, and you will understand there is more to the words he say that have ben carefully chosen for him.

Thought firing a missile into a nuclear plant might galvanize NATO but its like a rabbit in the headlights again as this terrorist thug rampages through a civilized country ????

They are not even good for that, unless you consider spending ten dollars to deliver fifty-cents in aid good.

Not entirely sure if this is true, but apparently FSB operatives who don’t agree with Putin’s invasion, foiled these plans by informing Ukrainian intelligence agencies of all three upcoming attempts. So Putin may be dealing with a fifth column in his own intelligence community. Wouldn’t that be something.

The existence of such a ‘5th Column’ is debatable, but it’s a debate Putin cannot afford to engage in.

A number of special forces units have been exposed, captured and killed.

This will be big screen stuff feeding Putin’s already demonstrated paranoia.

Enjoy.

The link in that article takes you to the Sky News video of the actual incident where the UK Sky news journalists were ambushed and shot. Scary stuff and very lucky to be rescued and alive.

"On Monday, near Kyiv, chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay and his team were attacked. Camera operator Richie Mockler took two rounds to his body armour, Stuart was wounded. Their experience illustrates the scale of the mayhem and violence as Russia's invasion enters a new and deadlier phase."
