Treetown, Pattaya-A 58-year-old foreign tourist, reportedly Irish, was allegedly attacked by several security guards in front of the Treetown entertainment complex area in central Pattaya last night following a dispute over a bill.

The guards, however, claimed the man refused to pay a bill and tried to flee and when he was stopped attempted to fight the guards and then accidentally fell.

The incident took place around 11:30 P.M. after Pattaya City police, rescue workers, and local media responded to the front of Treetown, a sprawling entertainment area in central Pattaya.

First responders from Sawang Boriboon found the 58-year-old man, reportedly an Irish tourist, bleeding heavily from a wound to his skull and confused. He was given first aid treatment at the scene and taken to a local hospital for further aid. TPN media has decided to withhold the injured man’s name at this time.

Shocking. A tourist is claiming he was scammed in Pattaya then beat up when he refused to pay?

I thought this wasn't supposed to happen again after the incident in January when the Tree Town security guards beat someone, kicked him in the face, stomped on him for 10 minutes... then stabbed him to death.

It will not happen again as the incident will hurt the image of Pattaya as a safe family tourism destination and will be a top priority for police to resolve the situation.

Where is that claim  made ?

Need to wait until the Irish guy sobers up and wait until we hear what he has to say .

It may be that he did refuse to pay his bill, for some reason .

Could be that he liked the sound of the bell ringing and kept ringing the bell ?

Conflicting ... await CCTV.  Maybe next time, they will pay he bill.

"Eventually, a pair of Australian tourists spoke to Pattaya police and claimed that the victim had been chased by several security guards from the Tree Town complex who got into a physical altercation with the victim. The victim fell after the altercation, hitting his skull and causing bleeding and his injuries, according to the witnesses."

"but the man was the aggressor and shoved them first. The guards claimed they only responded in self–defense, trying to calm the man down, which caused him to accidentally fall and damage his head."

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

An acute grave problem.

More like Scottish  behaviour with paying the bill!

Accidentally fell...  ????  Doesn't quite tally with the witness shouting loudly for minutes that two particular security guards(he pointed them out) had done for him. Fortunately for all concerned, he was merely unconscious.

I won't be posting anything for your selfish and pointless edification.

If it's already in the public domain; find it yourself.

Wow...another 'special' character chomping at the bit in order to see a witness to the proceedings shouting on video.

Strange what people need to get them through their day.

What information do you have to create your hypothesis.  Isn't it more appopriate to hold judgement until sufficient facts are revealed.  Too quick to blame the farang and the security guards.

I would say kudos to the guy shouting for people to call an ambulance. He didn't let the security guys off the hook even for a moment. They must have been 'having kittens' as other tourists tried their best to get their fellow reveller to respond.

Soon after, the first-aiders on motorbikes and the press arrived at the scene. Victim was soon sitting up and bandaged.

Armchair warriors will just have to read my report; no pictures and video for them. ????

Treetown

It's getting a name for itself. Becoming well known and famous.

Having a recent killing, now this incident. It's only early days too, the venue opened not too long ago, not a lot of business with covid recent shutdowns.

There is sure to be lots of activities for the tourists when they arrive.

NO, but to give an opinion, before blame, it would be nice to see how the injury was incur.  Was it a shoving match, or did the drunk (assuming) simply fall over as they do.

Your statement of 'witness shouting loudly for minutes' .... really.  And no link simply stating that happened, let alone seeing a vid of.

Check your bin and confirm your price after each purchase.  This will save a lot of issues.  Now, if you accidentally walked off without paying, apologize and give them an extra 50 baht!

No issues.

To be exact the Australian witnesses said they were not clear who started the fight.

As to the guards story

Pattaya police admitted they were skeptical of the guard’s story”
