Pattaya — A Thai hairdresser in Jomtien found himself in an unusual situation after an angry Russian customer took a razor from him and shaved part of his hair following a misunderstanding during a haircut.

According to reports, Mr. Supachai Maneecharoen, a 32-year-old hairdresser from Nakhon Si Thammarat, was cutting the hair of a male Russian customer on January 25th when the incident occurred. Due to language barriers, the customer used hand gestures to communicate his desired hairstyle. Mr. Supachai, believing he understood the instructions, proceeded with the haircut.

However, towards the end of the haircut, the customer allegedly became dissatisfied and slammed his hand on the table, startling everyone in the shop.

 

In a surprising turn of events, the Russian customer reportedly snatched a razor from the table and quickly shaved a section of Mr. Supachai’s head before fleeing the salon on a motorcycle. The Thai hairdresser, shaken by the experience, reported the incident to the Pattaya Police Station.

The barber is so upset he's joining the monkhood.

Well that was a close shave 

Hair today, gone tomorrow.

Usually you get the same haircut whatever you say, only the number matters

I keep a picture in my phone of the best haircut I ever had. Whatever barber I go to in the world, all I have to do is show the picture without having to try to explain how I want it.

When I was working as a scuba dive leader, all us instructors HATED Russian customers. They wouldn't listen and would constantly break the rules.

Send him back to Russia where he belongs. Their not good for Pattaya Society 

Ban all Russians from entering the Kingdom. Places like Phuket would become nice places to visit again. Now it's a no no for me

I have been using this barbershop since they opened. Always good service.

Russians all seem to have a short fuse.

 

Recently, while playing our guitars with friends in the morning at Jomtien beach, a young muscular Russian took offence to the Ukrainian colours that my friend had on his guitar .

 

The Russian started poking my friend on the shoulder and then on his face. I used my "teacher voice" and told him to go back to his young family at the beach and leave us alone. Totally uncalled for behavior ! I had to wonder why he was in Thailand and not back home fighting with his fellow countrymen ,  instead of bullying some old men at the beach.

He later apologized - too little too late.

I was watching a Russian female's TikTok video, and she said that most Russian men are always in a rage, and they could kill a person when in a rage. And she concluded that they needed wars to kill people legitimately.

I hope they catch this a..h… send him to the cooler for 2 weeks then deport him totally un called for what a piece of you know what!

A bad haircut only lasts a fortnight, but still disgusting behaviour.

What is your back up plan when you go Baldy?

Such bizarre people. Such social misfits. I have friends who know younger Russians. And they say they are kind, friendly and progressive. I have no idea what percentage of the population these younger people represent, nor how representative they are of the Russian population. Personally, I have met very few friendly Russians. Anywhere in the world. The vast majority of Russians I have met, seem to have very, very few redeeming qualities. It is no wonder.

 

I can only speak from my experience. Have run into alot of Russians both in the US, and on Phuket and Samui, 98% of them seem to be grumpy, unfriendly and gruff. Some of them are downright hostile. Likely a reflection of a very, very rough culture and environment. So, perhaps it is not a coincidence that the world is not standing up to support them and show them kindness? 

 

I do not think it is a sense of entitlement. I think it is a reflection of the current culture. It was destroyed by over a century of callous and murderous leadership. Stalin, Lenin, Khruschev, now Putin. They have become somewhat savage and crude. No grace, no finesse, no courtesy. Rather uncivilized.

 

My family was from Russia a few generations back. I used to ask my great-grandmother when she was still around, why they didn't teach us anything about the old country. She would give me this look, and tell me "the reason we never taught you about the place we came from, is because the place we came from was the most horrific country on earth, it was the most destitute, horrible, oppressive place and we were thrilled to finally get out of there and leave it behind. That's why we don't teach you about the old country, the old country doesn't exist for us".

I only recall an incident in Buriram whereby we were at loggerheads language wise... so  I used my limited Thai and ended up looking very military...... my fault, it  will grow out. This guy sounds very boorish... most Pattaya barbers have some English, if the Russian doesn't, get a haircut when you are back home! Go soon!

Rumblings in my area from locals are not good, there is a lot of Russians here, Im now starting hear Thai's complaining one of the things they are doing is renting villas and then sub letting or part letting, I know of one case now and the owner is not happy, he let his 2 bedroom pool villa, there is now 12 Russians living there and they are partying every night people turning up all night long, loud music, now the neighbours are complaining, 

He tells me he has called the agent and they are not interested which is normal down here, the owner obviously is not wanting to confront 12 drunk Russians.

Having been to both Moscow and St petersburg just before the war started I can only say that the women are great, but the men do not make you feel welcome, the country itself is wonderful, I did not need a haircut while I was there 😆

The Russian thug will get a nice haircut where he's going before deportation. 

Maybe the so called barber deserved that and some 

Same happened years ago in the Algarve, Russians started invading the place ruined it with their brash , arrogant, big headed,loud 

Attitudes and that was just the women! 

Actions like this are BAD for the reputation of Pattaya. Hope the police get this Russian out of Thailand. Is 'bad out good in' just a myth ?

ahh....the barber looks much better now.

I sypothise with the Russian when trying to explain to a Thai hairdresser. 

Once i was asked if I want one or a two , I replied i came for a haircut not the toilet .

I'd like to see Vasya's haircut
