A widely shared video of two foreigners engaging in sexual activity on a surfboard off Karon Beach in Phuket has sparked intense debate online. The footage, which was shared on the Facebook page of Hot Jung Phuket, has already received over 13,000 reactions and almost 2,000 comments since it was posted yesterday evening.

 

The video elicited a variety of responses from the online community. While many initial comments humorously addressed the couple’s public display, others expressed stern disapproval of their actions. One comment was particularly biting.

 

“Foreign men, women don’t care about anyone. If you’re not interested in public places, in the middle of the sea, Karon Beach, go for it. It’s hot, you’ll get the first scoop!”

 

“Come visit Thailand and have money to do whatever you want to do.”

 

However, not everyone was scandalized by the couple’s actions. One individual pointed out that the couple wasn’t causing any harm.

 

“Not causing anyone any trouble, just pure happiness.”

 

Interestingly, one commentator highlighted the effort taken by the person recording the video to capture the couple’s actions, which were taking place far from the shore. As they pointed out, the videographer had to zoom, and zoom, and zoom to get a clear shot of the couple.

 

Despite the heated online discussion, local authorities and the police have so far refrained from commenting on the incident. As the debate continues to simmer online, it remains to be seen whether any official action will be taken in response to the controversial video or not.

 

In related news, Bangkok’s bustling city center became the scene of a significant police raid when police apprehended a 49 year old woman, the alleged organizer of plus-size women’s parties involving illicit activities.

 

The police operation, led by high-ranking officers from the Metropolitan Police of Thailand, resulted in the seizure of condoms, sex toys, and other items related to the sex trade.

Actually this would be a misdemeanor at most, as the couple was that far from shore that they likely did not intentionally want to cause upset. In case this would have been right at the beach with many witnesses and intentional, still the likelihood of a financial fine (§ 119 OWiG).

 

Only in the most egregious and upsetting cases, with intention to cause upset, might there be one year of jail time (§ 183a StGB), but this is really unlikely.

 

Talking about Germany here, one of the more conservative western countries of the world. From what benighted place do you come that this would be prison time right away? Saudi Arabia?

Another case of much ado about nothing. Just another nothing burger. So what, a couple of people are having sex. The mistake they made was uploading it online, why would people do that? What the agenda? This whole online thing is so silly these days, it's just such inane, juvenile behavior. With alot of these uploads, it seems like people will do anything for attention. 

 

And it also seems like people will demonstrate outrage over absolutely nothing, I think they just want to play the victim, victim culture is so popular at the moment. Such pettiness.

I remember not so long ago the sidewalk full of the homeless and the unemployed. Tourism brings in the money, which Thais love more than anything else in the world.

It doesn't matter that much because 5 minutes later there will be a story of a local guy tying his girlfriend to his motorbike and dragging her down the road. It puts things in perspective.
