I was recently at the latter shopping for a bathtub. I asked the girl, aged in late 20s, if I could take my shoes off and get in. After I got in, she smiled at me and I said to her 'come in and join me'. I thought to myself if I were desperate and dateless I would probably pull this girl. She could be mine. 

 

In Homepro I noticed groups of girls standing around bored as hell. Home ceramic and SCG have normal staffing models and thus one will not succeed there. 

 

If you are not into P4P girls at the local bar why not go to a hardware store and find some loven? I think even someone with no friends (Bob) might be able to get lucky.

Spot on. If you have some game, if you have a great sense of humor, and are able to make them laugh and feel relaxed, if you are decent looking, and dress well, and are well groomed, it can be quite easy here. Generally, Thai woman are very comfortable with their femininity, with flirting, and open to talking with someone who approaches them, very unlike women in the West, these days. Of course, it also depends on who you pursue. If you are going after wealthy women, who are wearing $3,500 outfits, you will likely get turned down. 

 

If you are in your 30's, Thailand is your oyster. But, for single men who are older, there are hundreds of thousands of good looking, younger Thai women who are open to being with a foreigner, as long as he is financially stable. 98% of women want that stability. You simply need to be very assertive, have some game, hopefully have a minimal amount of bling, and a great sense of humor. If you can get them to laugh within a few moments of striking up a conversation with them, you are on your way. Gals who work in hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc. Stay away from the beach areas, and you will be fine, finding a real civilian. Step up to the plate often, and just approach as many strangers are you can. Make a sport of it.

Seriously though , one annoying thing about HomePro is that as the OP says , there are legions of girls loitering in the isles but when you get to the check out there is often only one cashier working, two if things are really cooking .

Yes....how the hell do they make a profit?...... never seen more than half a dozen cars in the car park.... and walking around they are deserted.

Was in Mega Home (Korat) at the end of last year.  Can't remember what I bought but at the checkout,  the lady said in perfect English 'Thankyou for shopping here and have a great new year'. 

 

I was blown away and commented that her English was very very good.  Had I been single, I may have visited that store a bit more often after that. 

 

She was very easy on the eye and lovely personality.  

 

In someways agree with the OP. 

Our local district amphur office also has a lot of bored ladies with empty desks. Might be able to get free SS health system if you hook up with one of these fine specimens. 

I don't like how they insist on surrounding  me in packs of 3-6 when I don't need help

When i came here in my mid 20s i have fanny hanging off me all the time, it was easy to pull, regular girls like jiggy jiggy too.

 

As you mention tho most of the farangs here look like rejects.

Worked as security a few years, and also had day shifts at malls, and cant say my days was boring. Lonely bored girls before lunch, and shop lifters in the afternoon.

One thing a lot are missing is that if you subtract the working girls, those you aren't attracted to, too young or old, those not attracted to you, and those who are only looking for a foreigner because they want a better life, meaning more money, the majority of Thai girls are looking for Thai men. Yes, they still don't understand that 90% aren't going to stick around after they have sex, especially if a baby is born, no matter how pretty they are.

 

They can relate better to someone who speaks their language and culture. The ones that will speak to you, stay with you, and not bleed you dry, are the ones educated by their parents of what makes a good man, can speak at least fair English, (because communication is imperative if you want a good relationship), and are working. This translates into,  they are looking for a man that will love them ,care for them, protect them, be faithful to them, stay after a baby is born, and provide for them and the family. This can mean a Thai man, but with their reputation and the fact that being Buddhist (most), they look at women as inferior. Westerners usually don't, although a good percentage still do. Women here are still attracted to a man's looks, but this being generally a poor nation, they always have that money in mind.

Are you suggesting that if you walk into a hardware store and say to a female assistant "I need a screw, can you help?" you wlll get more than you bargained for?

My suspicion is the OP is misreading nervous giggly laughter at his goofy antics as her being receptive to going out on a date. OK, OK, call me Mr. Negative, but here's why I'm a little skeptical.

 

The woman is probably working 6 days a week, meaning scheduling dates isn't going to be a walk in the park. Also if she's working there's a good chance she's either married, been married, or has kids she has to support. Young kids are going to further eat into her free time.

 

Chances are the entire staff in whatever department she works in, if not the entire store, is going to hear about your romantic overture, and if you actually go out on a date, how it went down, so every time you go back to buy an extension cord be prepared for the knowing looks, and being pointed at and whispered about. 

 

If both she and you live near her place of employment, then there's the scuttlebutt issue about her being perceived as skanking around with an older foreign guy, basically getting accused of turning tricks.

 

Should also mention that I've encountered a few "pros" (not prostitutes) working in retail stores. Women who have made it a regular side hustle dating customers. Fees to compensate her for time off from work, baby sitting fees, maybe chaperone fees for someone to accompany her on the first date or two, followed up by dinner at the most expensive restaurant in town, the evening ending with a peck on the cheek and a declination to go out on a second date due to lack of time away from work. Rinse and repeat.

 

I'll admit I've seen some pretty cute girls working in hardware stores. Not sure if all of them have particularly scintillating  personalities, but some are quite cute and seem down to earth. By all means give it a shot, but take it slow.

The 'getting in the bath' move wouldn't work for me.

Sure cute, but a lot of the girls in these places are very immature and inexperienced. Cute and nice smiles, but child like. Tried it no thanks.  Don't want to hang out with an inexperienced girl with a mind like a teenager. They probably would rather play on Tik Tok and watch cartoons then be with you.

How do you know they are bored and desperate? Most of them seem happy to play on their phones all day in an air-conditioned space, and if you go to these shops at closing time you will see their Thai boyfriends waiting to pick them up outside.

   What makes you think that they are all single and available ?

Many of them will be married , others will already be in relationships , some will be Toms and just a few will be single and some will be quite happy being single and even they will expect something in return for sex or expect to be fully supported in a relationship.

I was just reading through the comments shaking my head.

 

Yes, some girls are available - I found my wife when she was working in the Emporium. A lot of her friends, all the same, 20-somethings, all had boyfriends / tom boyfriends who would come and pick them up at closing time, or they had lazy husbands and kids in the villages.

 

Just because a shop assistant smiles and giggles, it doesnt mean that they are single and up to date a foreigner - that being said, if you Thai is good, you look good, then go for it.
