Are young farangs out of control?

Featured Replies

I was just looking at videos on Facebook

One Facebook full page is a Thai one showing young farangs videos of them out of control in Pattaya and I think  Phuket

One video I was shocked at ,two young teenage farangs probably 18-20 with UK accents with beards, bashing a Thai man in the street near Pattaya Big C, before a group of Thai men come to his aid

They are chased into a 711

The police turn up and do not take control of the situation!

Another video showing young farangs probably around the 18-20yo mark sitting on the bonnet of a car being driven fast down the south Pattaya road

Another video showing 5 farangs attacking a bouncer at a go go bar

Please is this new ?

Those foreigner's that ran into 7 Eleven didn't look British, although could be foreign British, so many these days. Police just need to punish these foreigners severely as a deterrent

I doubt farang tourist behavior has changed much.  What has changed is social media reporting every incident, with the media then picking up on it and breathlessly blowing it up into something major, when it is, of course, not major at all.  Just the other day Pattaya was reported to be, yet again, in 'chaos' over something very minor--an escalator not working.

YouTube has made Pattaya so well known worldwide that every bozo with a few pounds in their pocket come here now.

In the end if they f**k around here they will find out there are consequences.

Usually by getting set upon by several Thai men or women or both and if they really f**k around then they might get to skip that part and just be attacked with a weapon or shot !!

Now that the Spanish are wising up and they are now hated there, the shining beacons of other on-line idiots proclaiming the promised land draw them here.

Wait till the numbers burgeon:blink:

I honestly believe that more and more are trying on despicable behavior so they have something to post, for the clicks.

Just look at some of the stupid "challenges" where they do something stupid for the sole purpose of posting it.  Some of it just irritating, but some is downright mean and even dangerous.

Is it any different in Australia? In the US where I'm from, many teenagers and young adults do stupid things as an attention getting device, to test their boundaries and to intentionally hurt others, all depending on how they were raised at home. Of course, many more don't break the laws and just want peace in their lives. No different than the young locals here, stealing gold, scooters, cash, mistreating women, ignoring their parents, if they have any at home, driving motorbikes and cars at high speeds, on alcohol or drugs, or sober, chasing someone down the street 5 against 1 armed with sticks and machetes. Just your usual behavior from children out of control worldwide.

A public flogging would make then act responsibly.

Oh, sorry, I didn't know that's not your kind of humor.

Farang behaviour has changed drastically. I have lived here for over 20 years. I have lived in Pattaya,Phuket Samui. And now a small Thai beach resort for 12 years. In my time of living in those those place I probably witnessed 5 fights. And I was in the bars every night

Or, possibly have new accommodations at the Bangkok Hilton. Arrest is better than getting beaten by a bunch of meth fueled bouncers.

Blame social media. They need viewers and clicks on their websites.  Some of  them are harmless enough, but sometimes, they cross the line.

Once upon a time, YouTube didm't exist. The world was better back then.

No, it was not like this 10 years ago. Every day is a catastrophe.

It was the same in Benidorm, Ibiza etc back in the day, they are just carrying on the tradition but further away from the slum they come from.

You can't fix stupid and you can't stop you tube and click bait from promoting stupidity.

Pattaya's reputation tends to attract all the tattooed morons from around the world, but yes many Brits. Give them a load of booze and sure they will try to show off.

Hence why it's famously known as a family friendly destination.

Rubbish.  Every day is not  a catastrophe.   Hold the ridiculous hype.   (On the plus side, there might be a job waiting for you at AN.)

Pattaya ha always been a draw

Only by the deluded. It's a resort built on prostitution.Take that element away and it could become an attractive resort town for Bangkok residents and some foreign tourists. It could also shake off its low class image since its entire British expatriate population speak like Dan about Thailand.

This thread is about missbehaving young guys shown on videos on social media. But no one is putting up a link. This makes it kind of worthless.
