A casual observer could be forgiven for thinking that officials in Thailand had gone completely crazy - others might see method in the madness.

Officials were out and about in the community of Khoo Bua in Ratchaburi where there have been Covid-19 cases.

In the area of several high risk houses where people were quarantining the authorities decided to drop alcohol on them using a drone.

Not to drink - in a spray as a disinfectant, you understand.

Prayong Pimphroh and a kamnan were in charge loading up ten liters of alcohol based stuff onto a drone at a time.

Other parts of the area were cleansed in more normal ways in a bid to combat the spread of Covid-19, reported 77kaoded

And much needed food and other supplies were also delivered to those quarantining.

7/11 must be behind this idea.

Soon, they deliver drinks straight to your condo. Just go to your balcony and pick up your drink.

The virus is airborne.  A vast majority get the virus from air droplets, not from surfaces.

Nothing but a publicity stunt. Medically it’s right up there with drinking bleach

I can imagine the enthusiastic reaction in the Muslim areas of Bangkok or in the Southern provinces

even if it does reach the ground, it will just destroy nature like all the other idiotic sterilization that they do.

It seems the solution to all mishaps (pollution, Covid etc..) is to load up drones and uselessly spray everything.  Some things just cant be sprayed away!

True, spraying stupidity away doesn't work yet.

What's about the famous sniffer dogs they were talking about.

They could sniff a bit around HI-SO properties.

So now the Thai officials have determined that spraying alcohol from above will kill Covid?

What is wrong with these people!

Airborne over a short distance inside a house. But definitely not out in the open air, where the virus will be diluted and harmless!

Someone needs to have taken a nice cut on buying drones. What madness. Other stuff would have helped better this is a complete waste of time.

By this thinking they should be flying the drones over hi-so generals houses that visit night clubs or going the whole hog and dosing the political buildings

Yes sort of reminds me of seeding the "no clouds" with salt expecting it to rain.

You cannot vaccinate against stupid.
