Just wondering if all the bars in officers messes have been closed. Oh and the ones in the new parliament building too?

Government Officials are the most 'difficult to control' but they let them out every day !

  • She is not wrong...

  • Of course not people drinking are harder to control and usually don't care much about regulations and safety once the alcohol starts taking effect. Its the same the world over bars were closed first a

Individual drinking capsules for one.  Accessed from the street by separate door with vending facilities inside, paid for with a card. Sanitised between each use.  With charging station for mobiles!

So what about if bar customers were able to prove they are vaccinated...shouldn't the Thai govt see this as a start vice no solution at all. Customers that are vaccinated would not be a threat to staff, other vaccinated customers and society in general.

The boozers are to blame? Well, never a dull moment in the land of silly excuses!

Anyhow, I see alcohol being sold literally almost everywhere, in Chiang Mai it became official so I would assume that Thailand is hit by various little <deleted>-viruses; those who are dangerous in Pattaya and the harmless ones in Chiang Mai.

Get real - what a load of b0ll0cks!

Blame everything on the public so that you can make yourself look better. pathetic.

Its the daily"reopening" post from the department whose turn it is, of the carrot called optimism, for the optimistic from the the hub of optimism.
Any resemblance to the truth is purely fictional till  posted in the govt gazette.

While at my local wet/fresh vegetable market this morning it was the normal free-for-all.

if we could only find a way to control people's stupidity

I understand that alcoholic beverages will not be available in the 'sandbox' of Phuket for now, so what those hundred of thousand of tourist to do with no alcoholic drinks available? drink cola or pepsi?...

Only the teetotal ones with a good reason to come will venture here.

Is the viras under control in Thailand? If not should Phuket Sand Box scheme be delayed by a few weeks?

Played golf the other day. There was a sign in the restaurant which stated that alcohol can be sold but you cannot consume it in the clubhouse. I suppose a golf club is a bit like a 7/11.

Lots of great points here.  Reopen Black Caviar and Krystal already, there's clearly enough public support for it.

That's true, the actions of some members of this government in frequenting hi-so brothels in Thong Lor then running away and denying responsibility in particular.

It's obvious this administration has their backs to the wall as in every announcement they seem to be blaming the people or suggesting spread of the virus is down to individuals themselves.

Maybe the Thong Lor incident was just Government  Officials  doing a real time experiment in the link between  alcohol inhibitions  and super spreading. Proved absolutely  the link between excessive drunkenness partying and Wuflu hotspots hence the Governments decision to  ban alcohol. All done to protect the public!

Perhaps it's past time to stop trying to "control" everyone and everything? Perhaps it's past time to stop trying to "control" every aspect of nature, disease and death? Continue studying, learning and making great strides in knowledge, understanding and science...and advances in medicine and technology. HOWEVER it's past time to S-T-O-P controlling the actions of every single human, every single industry, every single business, every single illness and every simple pleasure.

Perhaps it's time to realize...This "control" is OUT of control.

Drinking alcohol does NOT make you lose control or be violent, or be anti regulations or anything of the sort.

TOO MUCH alcohol is the problem!

What percentage of people drink too much at a bar?

Open the bars, and arrest drunkards, not deny what I think are the majority of responsible drinkers just having a couple of drinks.

Yep. Stop building your own prisons, people.  Maybe "Stockholm syndrome" kicking in after 18 months of constant fear-porn from the mainstream media.?

Sanitize your hands with alcohol, then sanitize your mouth and respiratory

system with Sang Som, whats not to like.

Problem is that the gub'ment don't want you talking together about it

in a bar.

It's all about the vacccines. Bars are not an issue anymore. USA basically fully reopened, bars and all, for months now. Too late and draconian measures are just going to continue to kill the economy. Focus on making/obtaining vaccines, and not garbage made in China. Otherwise, Thailand is toast.

Thats all I do just go out fro a couple of hours early doors normally sit alone catch up on the football on my ipad then go home

"People drinking alcohol are difficult to control". By now even the medical experts in Thailand should know the "Delta" variant is following the natural course of viruses - more contagious but way less deadly....and this for a "virus" that wasn't that deadly to most of the population, unless you are in the High Risk group.  I'm curious as to what behavior when drinking, leads to "spread of the disease"? I can understand being in a crowded watering hole, and ripping your mask off with wild abandon, trapped inside the deadly 6 foot (183 cm) distance, unable to get away. And the frequent coughers, sneezers and loud laughers, not to mention the karaoke. So why open bars ever? People drinking will always be difficult to control. ????

Why can't they open bars (the type you see Soi 4) and Pattaya and many sport bars along with all restaurants and just keep night clubs closed.

Just make hours closed at 11 pm or even 10pm.

Between this wave and previous wave I would sometimes wander into stumble Inn soi 4. Over new year Pattaya same around soi 7/8, it was dead. There are no tourists here.

Open the bars and keep night clubs shut.

Shout out to Udon bars. Hang in there.

Can understand enclosed bars but pretty much established in the rest of the world outside is good and 10 times more safe with social distancing...same old same old, get on with the vaccinations...

She is totally wrong. Think about this. A man sits on his balcony and get drunk with some of his mates and girlfriends. He goes to work the next day via the BTS. What are the risks of him spreading infections? More than a bar, less? The same? This is just an excuse to shut down bars as they hate the image of Thailand and its nightlife. It seems OK to go to mega rich owned Malls, go to work in confined indoor spaces at work in order to make your masters more profits. It is even OK to cram into the BTS, but a bar? Hell no, by far a bigger risk, LOL. Open your eyes guys.

EDIT. Add to that, factually it has happened....Factories and wet markets proven to have clusters were shut, and re-opened within days. But bars, hell no. LOL again.

None of these regulations are being enacted to stop a disease  where  only 1,500 people had it in their system (most with other health concerns) out of 500,000 deaths from a population of 72 million.

More people died on their way to the mailbox in this time.
