Seriously, is this what I have to face (twice) to be vaccinated?

I don't know what the statistics are, I'm sure they'd be never published, but it looks to me like I'd be putting myself in danger of infection just being here.

unless you have to go out every day from home, just stay put and wait for vax to come to pattaya.

Sorry, but do you even read/watch what you post? 74% of the infected in that event were fully vaccinated but only 4 of them had to be hospitalized and no deaths (this was weeks ago).

The information has been out there...    You have had options....    Get a Tax ID # / or Yellow Book (and Pink ID) from your local Ampur and register for the vaccination on Mor Pro

Where in Pattaya is this?

This is Bang Sue, there is no vaccination centre in Pattaya, ie no other place to be vaccinated.

This looks like a disaster in the making .. but its everywhere you go. Before the driving licence test centers were closed down I went to get a new license, it was all good on the outside, everyone had made an appointment, everyone scanned in, but then when inside no one understood breathing down peoples neck in a confined space was not cool. You go to the bank or ATM and people at the front are kept a safe distance apart, but then at the back, where there are no chairs, security guards or marks on the floor, it doesn't matter.

The wife wanted to get some government money and had to get her ID approved by visiting KTB bank, I don't know why I let her do it, there were people crammed on the steps to the bank, sitting on the steps were lottery sellers and som tam sellers.

The only time I saw some good behavior was in macro a long while ago, we were queuing and leaving 2m between trolleys and some woman saw the gap and slid her trolley in, the guy infront explained to the woman that it was social distancing and for his safety, could she move away and not only that, she hadn't even considered that I was keeping my distance behind. It didn't matter to me who was in what place, I moved back a spot and let her have my spot, but people with common sense are so far and few in this country.

I think there is not much to do in the outside world for a while... I will wait for the frenzy to pass but I am glad to see the enthusiasm that there are long queues...

Nice of you to move back a spot for her, if there was nobody behind you...

But common sense as compared to where? I recently read an article from USA, my home country, where a large gathering did not want to wear masks, a violation of their freedom... well, not smart but ok, I understand... BUT, they wanted the people wearing masks to remove them??? Shouldn't they be allowed their freedom too?

The information has been out there...

You have had options....

Get a Tax ID # / or Yellow Book (and Pink ID) from your local Ampur and register for the vaccination on Mor Prompt (this option was available since the beginning of June).

Book the Vaccine on the Mor Promt vaccination site (a few threads around which have the link since the beginning of July).

It is quite surprising the numbers of people who have not been able to find out this information and just complain on this forum, meanwhile there are also plenty of others who have booked vaccines and provided such information, how they booked etc on this site.

Even one of the most consummate complainers on this forum was able to find a vaccine booking.

People have even had to ‘cancel bookings’ after they’d covered their bases with ‘other options’.

I understand and am sympathetic towards those who are a long distance from Bangkok, but for those in Pattaya who are complaining about not being able to get a vaccine and then complaining about the ‘scrum’ at BangSue station, there were options they have not taken.

IF the vaccine matters that much for them, I’m not sure how they have managed not to pick up on one of the opportunities.

Outside + wearing masks, you're usually safe but the Delta variant is so contagious, who knows. For foreigners, there are better options in hospitals where you don't have to crowd like this. I am one of those that had to cancel another backup booking I made because I was lucky the first one was a success. MedPark bookings in August had open slots available for weeks. thailandintervac has new links now where you can register at various hospitals. Really no need to be crowding and waiting forever at Bang Sue for us "lucky" foreigners who are old enough or have an underlying condition.

Somehow standing in that crowd, shoulder to shoulder, I wouldn't feel at all safe. I have tried the hospitals in Pattaya, none have the vaccine at this stage.  Having to jump through hoops like getting a tax file number, or yellow book to make a booking shouldn't be necessary, a passport should suffice.

Have you tried Banglamung Hospital, they are taking registrations. I myself registered today using my passport number. If i get an oppointment for a jab is another matter. But the options are out there.

- Tax ID? I entered mine on two different registration sites and it was rejected. Since it had the right number of digits, I assume the problem was the first digit being zero.

- Yellow book? In many places, sure, but in Pattaya and Banglamung the process involves MFA translations and such that may be beyond the abilities of the elderly.

The greater hole that we might dig for ourselves is to place the proverbial cultural comparatives as such applies to most anything.

I am not sure there is any perfect place here that is risk free.  I went to Phyathai Hospital for mine.  It was better then the photo at Bang Sue and very efficient. But, the elevator was packed going up to the 9th floor I tried to hold my breath.  There were a lot of people lined up.  Then, checking in very crowded every seat taken people coughing and sneezing.  Some with their mask pulled down talking on their phones.

They are never going to come knock on your door so there is probably some very small risk if you want to get the shot now.

I you are so concerned, I suggest 2 masks, a plastic face shield, goggles, long sleeve shirt and long pants, rubber gloves and hope for the best.

Mor Promp / Moh Promp / Mor Prompt / Moh Prompt / Mor Prom / Moh Prom

If you are struggling with that then you are are going to struggle with a lot of things....

How many got covid in that crowd?? What a nightmare.

Just in and not wanting to create further panic, but apparently in Massachusetts 74% of people were admitted to hospital, all having been FULLY vaccinated and now contracting Covid, that would tell me that Delta is getting through the vaccines, now what ?

That picture is from the first day that Bang Sue was in operation and they were not making appointments windows. I went last Sunday and it was nothing like that. Further enhancements in appointment windows and queue management hopefully will prevent such scenes. I was in and out in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Don't hesitate....if you are worried just bring portable alcohol spray and wear two masks but you should not fear the process.

Idiotic statement. Just telling the truth. If you fear going out and getting a jab...then hole yourself up under your bed and wait for the end.

Telling me "not to fear the process" is garbage, and sounds like it came straight from Anutin.

My Yellow book also involved MFA translations (most do).

IF someone is elderly and can’t make the MFA trip themselves, do they have someone with them, looking after them who could help ?

There are also lots of translation services which do the translation and MFA process for you.

The Mor Promp (App and Line link) has been around since may, we knew we needed the Tax ID / Yellow Book # since then - Thus, there has been time to get the Yellow Book IF someone was so inclined to get it done)

I never tried with the Tax ID number, but it has been repeated numerous times that the Thai Tax ID number (13 digits) is the same as the ID number on the Yellow Book (and Pink ID).

Neeraman is the poster who cliams the Thai Tax ID works - I have no personal experience of this (he’s adamant).

One thing which definitely worked on Mor Promp - The Number on the Pink ID  card which is 13 digits and starts with a 6 (for most foreigners).

IF you can get a Yellow Book now (and Pink ID now), go through the Process so that you don’t need to complain 1 month from now when you can’t register, or when you can’t register for a booster etc.

No harm in having the Yellow Book and Pink ID.... but I think posters are finding out that they’ve slipped through the gaps in not securing one.

Obviously not everyone can get the Yellow Book and Pink ID - but for those who can, do so. Otherwise keep your ear to the ground and look for the Vaccine bookings opening up such as MedPark.
