British people going to the U.K are not required to have any vaccinations against Covid

  • Yeah. OK. I believe you. What isn't mentioned is the UK not accepting visitors vaccinated with certain make of vaccines..

This recent report from the Independent suggests that Thailand will remain on the Red list due to lack of testing , which is the reason as to why Thailand went on the red list in the first place

Minimal data provided ( lack of testing ) and a low level of genomic sequencing.

Seems the boffins are somewhat dubious of Thailand's claim that ' everything is under control '.

Lets see how this goes as one of the major reasons the UK gave for putting Thailand on the red list was because of insufficient covid sequencing for new variants. Hopefully with the decrease in case numbers this will sway them.

I reckon that unless Thailand ramps up its testing , its case numbers will still be considered suspect.

Make little difference to Thailand's tourism as nobody from uk will come with daft entry demands 1

Probably the best indicator that Thailand's vaccine programme is working

Yep , remaining on the red list would be certainly be an indicator.

Indeed - even if Thailand is taken off the UK red list, all it does is put us back to where we were in August.

My brief spurt of optimism earlier may have been misplaced. ????

Yes remaining on the red list would be an indicator that the vaccine programme isn't as good as they say it is

Thailand being on a red list of any other country, must be a big loss of face to the

Thai government. After all this government thinks it is the greatest, and fumbles along

every day.  I do hope that Thailand gets considered as more pink than red soon.

It is fast becoming high tourist season after all, and the weather must be changing as well

in the UK.

You clearly have a decent amount of solid evidence at hand to substantiate this - and not just your barroom theories - documents etc. It's quite a conspiracy that would involve a large number of people. Maybe forward it to one of the independent news sources out there. They'd be keen to see it.

Independent news sources have already cited the main reasons for Thailand being red ;

Insufficient levels of testing , low levels of genomic sequencing and a lack of data provided.

So in short , what the man said !

while Thailand keeps treating foreign tourists as "Red" this will fail

what about green - you want tourists - then green is it

fully vaccinated foreign tourists are not the problem - they are green

the real problem is that Thailand is red - both internally and externally

BBC announced today that the government will change the rules for entry to UK , probably announced next week, in effect October. They will most probably keep a red list though.

People are getting the jabs now,if they sort the testing out and rates go down. Then all good for thailand.Maybe the gates open and everything good  for tourist to return if you got the 2 jabs.

Countries on the red list, which includes Thailand, are expected to shift to less restrictive amber or green rules following a drop in Covid rates,

Looking at the state of Phuket and it's infection rate I don't think that's very likely.

How can they say we're safe to travel to, yet they have so many restrictions and bars closed?

Does that mean  a British national can be refused access to his country ....., just like the Australians do ?????

Since when have Australians been refused access to the country?

Flights are hard to obtain and the government has recently reduced the flights by fifty percent, plus there is two weeks quarantine but there is no bar on citizens entering the country that I am aware of.

Tipped by who... Phiats clairvoyant?

Thank you but 18% of 65 million still does not make it 27 Million.

Look at the data page I attached.

The 27mil refers to total vaccinations. That's one and two shots and presumably boosters.

Which includes returning from Thailand.

The Netherlands changed just now  the Quarantines rules for vaccinated travelers  coming from Thailand and other high risk red zone country's , ( however what vaccinations become recognized stay's  question by so many different rumors on this forum.....???? )

Might be convenient for some Brits  trying avoiding some U.K. rules

PDF from article is in English

UK might end up on Thailand's red list if this comes true, from today's DM

Doomster advisors warn of ANOTHER winter lockdown and 7,000 hospital admissions a DAY within weeks - telling PM to 'go hard, go early' to smash any Covid surge despite cases being flat and most of the nation being jabbed

Modellers from a Sage sub-committee say daily hospitalisations could reach almost double the January peak

The predicted total is worse than last year and seven times that of the latest figures – in England at just 1,009

The Sage modellers called on ministers to be prepared to abandon their 'light-touch' measures for fresh curbs

They said these are needed soon - or risk a rise in cases and hospitalisations - due to schools and offices back

Thailand is doing 30,000 TESTS A DAY.

Just announced. Thailand stays on red list.

Eight countries taken off England’s red list including Turkey and the Maldives but sadly not Thailand.
