Good as long as they don't charge extra for it. Dr. Donna in BKK includes Fit to Fly with her test results.

But this is travelers coming into Thailand not leaving Thailand.

PCR tests and 1 day quarantine is necessary to ensure tourists do not have covid.  The vaccine does not nullify being able to receive/ spread covid.

Yes, I know that and should have been more clear.

But the rabid pro-vaxxers usually deny the vaxxes don't work....

That's a disgusting lie.

They do work in preventing hospitalizations and death.

Not 100 percent but still very effective.

Eliminate the 1 night quarantine at ASQ hotel and replace it with rapid PCR test at the airport. If done right this can be done in 15-30 minutes.

This is doable and acceptable for both Thai government and foreigners/travelers/tourists. It should help with tourism.

Drop the after arrival test completely!

Your first sentence was unnecessary.

Note that I used the adjective "rabid." I was not referring to all pro-vaxxers.

Not exactly free out of the gates, but definitely better than just a few weeks ago.   Feeling really positive about all of this.  ????

You forgot "Must be back in room by 11:00 pm!"

Or the spy app will find you, and the BIB will come for you.

Most of us have given up this fight. They either get it or they don't/won't. Good on you for still carrying the flag.

And travelers leaving Thailand don't need a Fit to Fly certificate so who wants to pay for one? Anutin is so out of touch with the situation probably does not know or remember a mandate for the useless document was abolished near 6 months ago.

They won't in the U.S. even for $150.

I read of some in the Los Angeles area that do the fit to fly.  I read it when it was required.  Search the forums somebody posted a link to it

The info just released seems to indicate arrivals can stay anywhere for the one night as long as the arrivals provide a means of contacting them.

wait at airport!

Well done.

Unfortunately, this forum has a number of posters who have a very fleeting relationship with the scientific truth.

Q - Why do I need to book an SHA+ hotel for a night?

A - Because we made a load of hotels apply for it and now we look dumb. Besides, how we gonna know where to pick you up and take you to a really expensive quarantine hospitel at 14 days at your expense for sitting next to someone a plane that did test positive on arrival? You did get insurance that actually covers you for asymptomatic covid that's doesn't require medically necessary treatment right? Oh dear, don't worry - we take visa and mastercard.

So what is new for 23 years I have been putting my contact info on my arrival card?

Since whenever I had to give it again as a TM-30. Fit-to-Fly must be a gaffe. No other country used that nonsense as far as I know.

Yeah! Who even try to get on plane if not healthy enough to fly! Also airline companys not take sick passenger on plane anyway! You can get sick after you have get stupid fit-to- fly document from doctor!

You are confusing a required PCR test with a Fit to Fly Certificate signed by a Doctor. Both, separate documents  were required by Thailand until Apr 1 2021 Now only a preflight PCR test is required.

That’s the thing: Anutin is talking about reinstating Fit to Fly Certificates as an entry requirement (see OP.)

He'll be along anytime soon. No I did not. Misunderstanding. But only after 1000 foreigners do it.

I doubt that the hoteliers like that vague statement, as it could be interpreted as the returnees could go straight home????

Perhaps hotels favoured by Anutin? I hadn't realised that Anutin was in charge of the "legalise cannabis? movement. No wonder it is so screwed up and complicated.

I thought they did away with this requirement?

Why are they bringing it back now, and where the hell am I supposed to get one?

Getting a FTF document is easy in Thailand but difficult in the UK

How can you possibly be so out of touch with Thailand and common parlance on this forum?

What is a fit to fl y document. Who issues it?? What must it state?

"Thailand's deputy prime minister and health minister  Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed that tourists arriving in Thailand will have to stay one night in a place where they can be contacted."

I guess stay where ever you want but make sure your phone is always answered when contact is attempted ?

I would forget about it until the official requirements are announced (it was recently dropped, can't see them bringing it back).

The ever changing rules de jour are mind boggling.......................
