Bizarre remark, Thai prisons are not known for violence inside, besides which, maybe it would be the "Arabs and Iranians" who get the hard time!

A jew in a Thai Prison will get a hard time from the Iranians and Arabs The immigration lock up is run by iranians who are known to give Americans a hard time.

  • I was about to post the same story. It's been in the news since morning already. How very selfish. I hope they throw the book at him.

He is an arrogant, self centred spreader of disease who deserves severe punishment. Given the amount of Arabs and Iranians in the prison system he could be in for a hard time. His behavior is not unus

They test themselves and then lie low. It really is that simple. The problem is they don't self quarantine properly and start to go about their business when major symptons start to wane. This is common behavior unfortunately. What don't you understand?

Don't know how you would know that, or how many, but agree, that's a bit rude and inconsiderate.

Though all you vax'd and masked up folks shouldn't have anything to worry about....right ?

Huh?  Where did you get that gem from?

What gem?  The fact that most foreigners don't submit to 10 day quarantine in field hospitals? It'd a fact. They don't bother.

This one...

"Most expats who catch covid do not cooperate with the Thai authorities because they believe they are superior to Thais".

I'd bet that you cannot justify that assertion with anything empirical.

It's not funny but nothing can be done to stop them

You've stayed in a Thai prison, have you?   If he is convicted he wont be going to IDC, he'll go to a prison.

The Israelis have influence here. They employ a lot of Thais. They will keep him out of prison.

Crucifixion then ????

Will his assets pay for the resources to track him down

Doesn't matter, he won't be required to finance the search for him, that's not how police forces work.    You can't really think that every criminal get's billed for the police's time, surely?

Don't be silly. Do you want empirical evidence that my neighbor crashed his motorcycle? Sorry. I no such evidence. But it happened. If you don't want to believe it that is your problem not mine. Let's be clear Most people with covid do not submit to 10 day quarantine field hospitals. That's all I'm saying. you feel free to believe otherwise based on your personal experience or empirical evidence..

god knows the costs he will be hit with that

Apart from the associated medical treatment, costs for what?

OK so the is issue revolves around the word 'mass' so I will restate. Most foreigners do not submit to quarantine when they have tested positive until extreme sickness forces them to seek medical attention.

Much better, and I also wouldn't 'volunteer' for quarantine, but would self isolate at home.  Seems way too practical, as no need to pay to sit in a hospital if not needing treatment.  That's just silly and why would anyone ?  Just makes more people available to be in contact with you, and infecting others, possibly high risk folks.  They are at the hospital to begin with.

The volunteer 'screws' at that particular immigration prison tend to be there for a long time as the have valid appeals not to be returned to Iran. Often they have no money to return nor do they want to. They have established a position of dominance and influence in the system. This 'trustee' system is common in many prisons. I forgive your naivety but your ignorance is unacceptable.

What is confusing about my comment?

Nothing is "confusing" about it but, apart from the first sentence, it's just plain wrong.  Thai prisons are not known as hotbeds of religious violence in general and you've produced nothing to justify your "non-cooperative foreigners" theory

No, not interested in your neighbours motorbike accident. that's not the discussion.   There is no compulsion for foreigners who find themselves infected with Covid to "submit themselves" to any hospital or 10-day enforced quarantine.

No just those who deliberately flaunt health regulations, cause infections, cost public and police money, sick folk not working. Make this one pay, I say.

The courts could impound/confiscate his assets if allowed.

The Israeli in question, if convicted and sentenced to jail time, will not be going to "immigration prison", he will go to a normal prison as all convicted criminals do.

They could, if they were allowed to, but they're not.

Maybe a few weeks in IDC will be the result.

Try this:-

Quote

His behavior is not unusual. Most expats who catch covid do not cooperate with the Thai authorities because they believe they are superior to Thais.

So you stereotype most of us with this idiot and you are confused over my attitude toward the Thai people.

It's possible he spread the disease, but unknown.

As anyone who is fully vaccinated with the magic juice can do the same should they be given hard punishment too?

Who are the expat you know with covid who think like that?

Not really, because he was planning to walk back to Israel and would not have to go through immigration when he left Thailand. ????

Maybe he felt enough is enough after being fully vaccinated to travel here and now he is infected. But they don't say is it was Omicron or a different variant. Omicron is spreading so fast and there is no stopping it. So this is a catch 22 situation, more and more tourist will have Omicron.

Lock him up in isolation for a year then punted out of the country.
