Even though my wife is very smart, I do not get much intellectual stimulation from the relationship. But, I get so much else.

You like your deal and you've made your peace.  Good for you.

I see a lot of Hell is getting what you want in this thread.

"Happiness is not getting what you want, it's wanting what you have."

I wish that the two sides here -faithful marrieds and happy mongers- could somehow bubble up in the general consciousness. It's always gloom and doom, pedophile meets trafficked teen-slave.

No one is more misunderstood and villainized than the white man (or his dusky brethren) in Thailand -and no one cares less. People just living their lives as they see fit are an inspiration to me.

The sex angle is just a peg to hang a bunch of generic outrage on. Or disappointment in people's own lives. Any other theories?

Relationships barely get any better when you both get what you want!!

But, take the same lady out of her bar environment, and there is nothing to talk about.

Might be a question about picking the bar-lady that don't talk about "who broke up with their Thai boyfriend, who is marrying a customer," and who is not "borrowing money from everyone"...:whistling:

One of the issues with this forum is that there is a significant degree of cynicism towards those who'd suggest they are dating well educated women from a 'well to do' background....

It is because there are not any female rocket scientists. Rockets were invented by men. Women really havent contributed much to mankind.

I am writing this message to you on a computer made by man on the man made internet. I flew to Thailand on a man made plane and am about to get a cold beer from my man made fridge.

I am so sick of the pro feminist woke claims that weaker men have been bullied into believing.

They are Catering specialists, and PR managers who are in the entertainment industry. Some are even care assistance's and counsellors. Many also have the skills of health carers and hygiene officers. A few skill therapists dotted amongst them too. plus a few are aspiring actors waiting for the next big break! But, None are BAR GIRLS

I always choose under 35 years old, and weighing less than 50Kg.

Works again and again for me.

I was lucky enough to choose a 28 year old with long black hair weighing around 44kg.

Now she is a tad less than 50 kg, going grey gracefully (not dying it black all the time) and will be 58 this year.

I only needed to choose once and was lucky enough to get it right the first time.

So what do you believe? That men are smarter? Based on what criteria? Is number of inventions a reasonable criteria to measure intelligence? It is surely a form of creativity that may not encompass all aspects of intelligence. Could you be wrong? Could a factor be opportunity over the last few hundred years too?  What are the implications of your belief for the way you go about your day and life? Do you think you personally are more intelligent than most or all women because you are a man? Or for other reasons? Maybe your post is meant to be humorous.

A better choice than 35kg and 18, even some here will disagree

women weren't even in the workforce once upon a time.

and even now, maybe men spend longer hours at work.

aren't there more women than men in most universities these days?

never underestimate women.

Beautiful story.

Also shatters the myth that they have no choice.

RIP

Yes, but not all have the same level of determination and drive. Their choice of course.

Anyone accessing this Forum on a cell phone, give thanks to Hedy Lamarr.

Not a very good example for this topic. She was married and divorced 6 times, the last husband she married was her own divorce lawyer, and then she divorced him as well. ???? Most of her marriages lasted less than 4 years. ????

My mother was Hungarian and looked very similar to Hedy.

My mum without makeup (top) and Hedy (bottom)

We have to decide when good enough is good enough and if it makes sense to chase for something better which maybe doesn't exist.

Right ???? Most likely doesn’t exist, after awhile it’s the same.

Most of us probably couldn't even if 'she could'....

... the reality for most is perhaps far more depressing....  Many men just don't have the game to attract incredibly intelligent women who are also incredibly attractive....  'thats a level of game' that most older expats here just don't have.....

It used to be our 'looks' (part of which is age) that gets us in the door and our 'game' (intelligence, charm, humour) etc takes the rest of the way with such intelligent & attractive women....  as we age that door is hardly ajar.....  For others, that door was locked cards stacked against them... its just life.

So... after your  5 minute or 2 hour romp or whatever it is with a stunner.....   what you do ???... talk about which shop has the best som-tam ???...

Yea, I like that.

Looks open the front door, but it's game that gets them to the bedroom.

Guys who've never experienced either think it's all about pushing money thru the letterbox.

Every woman I have dated in the eight years I have lived here had a normal job. One even had a college degree. I found little difference in their behavior regarding money. More, more, more was all they thought about. I have lived with a 46 year-old woman for three years now. (I am 73). She was employed in traditional massage until Covid hit. She is extremely reasonable and not bad-looking.  Like all of the others, I’m sure she will leave me at some point. That’s life. I really don’t care anymore.  ????

Try 80kgs and 70yo for a change. Good for biceps.

There are lots of smart, well educated, and rich guys who (regularly) go to bars. And many of them play with the girls.

The novelist Graham Greene and the Nobel Prize winning physicist Richard Feynman were fans of the sort of things on offer in Nana Plaza.

If it's good enough for them.....

How can anyone marry someone they can’t have a conversation with ?!   I have quite a few foreign friends with Thai wives. One lady is a doctor, another who speaks fluent Chinese and English and is employed in a big travel agency, another one is a cook . Etc .All successful marriages. Would you marry a girl you can’t speak to in your own country , or have a prostitute for a  girlfriend/wife ??

Jerry Hall was married to Mick Jagger and is, perhaps, the most famous Texas model. She came a long way from the woman who once worked at a Dairy Queen in Mesquite, Texas.

Hall said she had this advice on keeping a man like Mick: “My mother said it was simple to keep a man; you must be a maid in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom.”

She didn't mention a Mensa membership but notably Hall and Jagger eventually split up so that could have been the deciding factor.  Of course it could also be because after 22 years and 4 kids she was tucking her teets in her jeans.

and then she married Rupert Murdoch.
