Pattaya, Thailand-A British national was arrested last night, according to Pattaya Police, after what was described as a several-hour standoff with the suspect following him allegedly firing a gun several times into the air at his luxury home in Pattaya.

The incident took place around 7:00 P.M. last night, July 2nd, 2021, at a luxury home in the Palm Oasis Village located near Soi Thepprasit 9 in the greater Pattaya area. The incident was first responded to by Pol. Col. Thanawut Chongjira from the Pattaya Police but attracted over fifty police in total as the suspect was, according to police, not cooperative.

According to Ms. Thanasiri Duangkwan, 36, and Ms. Pornthip Sophonthawinpong, 38, both housekeepers at the luxury home, the suspect had fired several gunshots into the air, alarming both neighbors and residents and staff of the home.

According to Pol. Col. Thanawut Chongjira, the suspect is Mr. G, 44, a British national. The suspect reportedly fired at least four shots from a firearm into the air and then sealed himself in his home after police arrived, leading to over fifty Pattaya Police and special forces teams to eventually arrive to respond to the situation.

50 police and special forces responded?  Even if this guy gets no prison time, I bet he will be sent a very large expense bill for this.  Deportation and banning and other things may be the least of his worries if he can't pay up

What a <deleted>. A face only a mother could love and the body only a bar girl can accept. Loser!

Your honor, I was just cleaning my licensed fire-arm as I am a Diamond courier, and it accidentally went off.  Then it went off again, scared the bejesus out of me so I locked myself in my room while I changed my soiled shorts.....

Amazing how many foreigners seem to live in high end places with security etc yet feel the need to have a gun !

Either very scared or want to keep people away for some reason ????

Pattaya police are still exploring possible legal charges at this time, according to a statement made to The Pattaya News by Pol. Col. Thanawut Chongjira.

Sounds more like police waiting if he will pay enough to make it all go away .

yes can not charge him with discharging firearm in public but he is in possession of a firearm which is illegal on its own , then unregistered one as well, foreigners can not legally own one .resisting arrest. So plenty of charges but I guess need to wait for best offer ????

Next stop , Bangkok Hilton

A true 5 star luxury and amenity filled location, not for the feint of heart.

If I remember correctly it was only a couple of years ago the law about foreigners having guns changed. I thought it was now illegal for any foreigner to have a gun. And a good advertisement for the banning of alcohol to all foreigners, they just can't be trusted, make them all go to an alcohol dry out centre at the foreigners expense of course and those that still want to drink alcohol make them know that they are not wanted in Thailand. Filthy drunken, gun carrying foreigners, get rid of them all except those pure law abiding Chinese (and Australians of course)

Doubtful if he will ever sleep in his luxury home again.

What a fool and idiot he is.

Mr. Alexander Michael Gerasimidis,...A typical British name these days!  Where are all the Smith's, Brown's and Jones's.  Most likely all emigrated!

It sounds Greek...but of course the late Prince Philip was also Greek....changing his surname when he became a naturalized citizen in 1947

Oh no......another farang that trashes our reputation and makes us all look bad to the Thais.......(winking smiley face).

Sounds like usual Thai v Farang fighting numbers.

50:1.

Obviously a well off Brit living in a luxury home

Appointing a big name lawyer pay a big fine comes to mind plus a donation to the police fund

Should in fact be jailed and deported for any incident involving fire arms

In my time , I have been blind drunk, high to a point that I could not even see but even during those high times I always knew who police was and not to shoot in their presence.

what would be going through ones mind when you have 50 cops outside your house and you are armed.

in a way , he is lucky this is in Thailand . US he would of been killed for sure, other countries, I have a feeling house would of been breached and he at the very least shot

Your time in thailand is over after some goal time and fine maybe welcome back. You will be lucky ever to return again

Well if the crime was not committed in Thailand it does not count i believe.

Possible because he couldn't get any alcohol, they do say some people act strange when they can't get a drink.
