BANGKOK, July 14 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha does not oppose the idea of inoculating people against COVID-19 with different kinds of vaccines in series, according to the government spokesman.

Anucha Burapachaisri said the prime minister wanted the fastest vaccination for people, especially for elderly ones and those suffering chronic diseases.

Regarding a proposal on the mixed use of different vaccines for the first and second jabs, the government spokesman said, the priority was the fastest inoculation for as many people as possible because the Delta variant of COVID-19 was easily transmissible and was spreading rapidly.

What a tangle web we weave when ........well you all know the rest.

IN this case Thai's are "lab rats" not "guinea pigs". Not same same...

This is great news. I was getting concerned by all the reports saying it wasn't proven to be safe yet. But now Prayut has confirmed that he doesn't oppose it (for other people of course, not him) then I'm completely reassured.

Totally irresponsible statement to make from a health spokesperson, they now realise the folly of their ways and the Chinese fluid is not up to the job - Well done A-nut-in

So the oracle of all is still alive and kicking, where would Thailand be without his wisdom and guidance?

Delusional, narcissistic, dangerous.....

I wonder why those words spring to mind whenever the little green man makes one of his pronouncements?

Which is why he blocked the purchasing of vaccines?

The prime minister did not intend to suspend mix-and-match vaccines and all concerned parties should listen to the stance of the National Communicable Disease Committee on the matter of vaccine combination and take careful consideration, Mr Anucha said.

Don't think the statement that he doesn't oppose mixing jabs was correct. More like he is washing his hands off this subject and shove the responsibility to the NCDC. He is no leader for sure.

The W.H.O does not seem too keen on that idea....

Who misspeaks again? WHO!

WHO's Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan advised against mixing manufacturers claiming there was no evidence or data to support it. But this is not quite true. So far everything suggests it's not only safe but very advantageous.

Nature: May 9 Mix-and-match COVID vaccines trigger potent immune response

She was probably taken out of context or misspoke.  She herself warned July 9 that  the pandemic was not slowing and boosters are needed to fight new variants. A Reuters Corrected Update suggests she may have referred to individuals making they own decisions.

Its unfortunate if her comments are taken out of context as a down vote for combining vaccines.

There has also been pushback on her comments.

So politicians have now become Medical Experts who will now authorize medical procedures?
