PM reflects on Covid crisis: It looked so beautiful now it's come to this - blames rule breakers

Featured Replies

Initial sterling effort was all BS due to a sterling lack of testing and recording. Sh#$e has hit the fan now because they can't hide the cases anymore with their usual swerving of the truth.

You've dragged the country further down with your absolutely pathetic vaccination plans.

  • No shame whatsoever. People losing their lives because of his government's pathetic, corrupt vaccine strategy and he has the nerve to blame the same people whose liberty he stole illegally in 2014.

He must continue to push Anutin to get Pfizer & Moderna vaccine doses in country urgently.

What he said is correct,  thai's are spreading the virus at home to mom's, dad's, aunties, uncle's and brothers & sisters, they were complacent in mixing with family and friends, and gathering in groups as in the protests .....  no one can dispute this.

Good job Khun Prayut Chan O Cha. :wai:

Considering you're such a fanboy of Prayut I'm surprised you didn't know that on 27th April he was designated as the sole authority in charge of all responsibilities and duties, previously vested in his ministers, to deal with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

I hope things miraculous improve.

In my area we are being hit hard ,one on the main causes of the spread was infection from 2  chicken factory's ,one is very near us,it was kept open to long after in infection took hold.

He is just using the above as an excuse for him and his government making a complete  pig's ear of it all ,and that is putting it politely .

No worries Thailand will open 1st October and all will be OK again

The bottom line is when other countries were closing borders Thailand allowed millions from Wuhan and other infected areas to travel freely throughout Thailand.  This followed by no testing looked like no virus.  Meanwhile the "experts" were telling us the virus could not survive in hot places and the ever knowing WHO and others were congratulating Thailand.  Incompetence on all levels.  Now that testing is in full force of course the virus is evident but not particularly deadly by any definition of a pandemic.  A panicdemic may be more appropriate.

Perfect example of why military people should not run countries. Glorified Cub Scout, probably never involved in a real fight/war yet calls/called himself a general.

"He called the present moment a "turning point" and asked his "brothers and sisters" to have patience and follow the rules."

Will this really be sufficient if only his brothers and sisters have patience and follow the rules and the vast majority doesn't care?

you certainly do have a vivid imagination don't you .....

Well it's often the case when you can't stand the heat any longer just disappear. just like the Red Bull Boy and many others have done over the years. They never seem to have any luck bringing the scoundrel's back to face justice. They must be laughing all the way to their foreign banks doorsteps.

There is now a serious deficit of trust of Prayut and his ministers competency to lead the country out of this crisis and post crisis economic rebuilding. He can’t continue to lead the country when majority of the people feel that he is the problem not the solution. The best thing for him to “stand with the people” is for him and his government to resign and form a unity government and promise an early election.

Actually, I would not be surprised if the masters were looking for an alternative puppet, I.e.  Prayuth could be affected by a diplomatic disease. However, I doubt more democracy would be on the menu.

The Thai government sat on their hands for ages and failed to order proper vaccines in time.

It's as simple as that, and the PM should stop blaiming groups of Thais for this mess.

Thailand managed to go through this fairly well until the Delta version appeared and after that things went south.

If enough Thais had been vaccinated with Proper vaccines, they wouldn't have to face another lockdown.

A little data from Denmark to show the difference when the majority is vaccinated.

Here in Denmark 67,6% has started their vaccination.

84,2% had Pfizer, 10,8% had Moderna and the rest is AZ and J&J, but those 2 has been taken off the official program due to side effects, so that's why most have Pfizer/Moderna.

Some are Cross vaccinated with AZ/Pfizer, but that combo still seems effective enough against the Delta, so that's nice.

Denmark still have the Delta version in most of the daily samples( we have about 700-1000 total positive pr day at the moment and about 80% of those are Delta),

but deaths and hospital submissions are very very low.

There are 50 in hospital in Denmark atm and in the last 8 days we had 0,0,0,1,1,1,0,0 deaths.

Low number here even if we are almost open as normal.

No masks required anywhere unless in public transport (can take mask off while sitting though and masks wont be needed in public transport from sept 1, but i guess the airlines still will require masks.)

Bars open until 02:00

Large soccer matches at national stadium during EURO soccer matches.

Beaches packed with people in the summer heat.

And still no crazy spikes even with the Delta variant being the most dominant.

So the vaccines work and it's so sad to see Thailand didn't react in time.

If the politicians did their job, Thailand would have been opened up by now.

They delayed the whole healing process and now it will just take even longer before many Thais are back on their feet.

Don't forget about William Heinecke and Minor Group. He along with a lot of other hoteliers have been demanding no quarantine, open tourism and business as usual for more than a year now.

As a businessman in Thailand with a substantial investment ..... this is simply dismaying.

Won't be long now...... Fingers crossed.

The youth of Thailand are no different.

They aspire to the same as the old.

Money.

Greed.

Power.

They just hide it a little better.

Thailand's people,  need to change not just the government.

Rubbish. I know many young girls (21-27) all well educated, conscientious and unbelievably cute.

i’d take them running the country over the clowns running it at the moment any day of the week!

Him and Scott Morrison are the dynamic duo, it's always someone, or something, else's fault that their country's vaccine roll outs are disasters. Nothing to do with them.

While im not in front in this government i'd say he is right 100%  . Meeting others , anybody , can be sister. brother , child , parent , friend , parent anybody at all , can lead to further spread of the virus . It really is anybodies own case which gives it reason to exist .  Government can only give advise , it is all up to you and meeting anybody can lead to spreading it further .

Rubbish. He lead a country into disaster and his cronies started the recent epidemic. To blame the people is disgraceful.

He should be pounding the phone lines trying to find vaccines.
