Don't forget the doctor who forged the cause of death.

Just Theatre.

Once away from the cameras they will be with the sympathetic boys.

The arresting cops must be thinking ' There but for the grace of Buddha go I '

  • Protect the image? This.....Mister PM......is both the image and the reality of the police. You're only furious the because truth has been exposed....again.

plenty of good cops as well as some bad apples

LOL

Over the years I met at least 100 traffic police officers. I remember exactly one who didn't want a bribe. TiT

Bit strange that his transferred and not put in jail directly while the investigation is ongoing.

Mistel mistel, you don understan.

14 days' monkhood to let grass grow over the story. The taller the grass, the greater the chance of reinstatement without the prying eyes of the good public.

I know, and I have seen it.  "Your honor, the suspect had Covid and was spitting on the officers" "He became combative and a bag was placed over his head" "He then had a seizure from the Covid and died".  Defense rests.

Nah. They don’t even count the actual COVID cases as real cases.  So they’re certainly not going to classify this one as COVID.

Have you ever seen an angry Thai person think before they do something? It´s one of society´s big dilemmas.

Suwat tried to limit the damage apologizing for the incident - one that he simply couldn't hide or deny due to the graphic nature of the video - saying that there were plenty of good cops as well as some bad apples.

Silly comment.......we all know what happens when you put 'some bad apples' in a barrel of good ones!  I also think it should read 'plenty of bad cops as well as some good apples'.  Someone send him a copy of Serpico please!

Yes this makes one wonder how much more of this is going on in Thailand.

Don't you remember the police station in Kalasin?

https://www.refworld.org/docid/503cc5092.html

I am sure that this is normal procedure in many police stations in this country.

How much of the money this fine colonel "extracted" from his victims have gone to his superiors?

Lock them away and we should all donate some money to buy a 50kg bucket of vaseline for those poor officers.

Why would Thailand be shocked. :coffee1:

Thai prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocah is furious about the case and had ordered immediate action to protect the image of the police

I don't think they deserve to be called Royal Thai Police. Drop the ROYAL as it has unacceptable connotations. Put them in they right place as servants to the Thai people and ban brown paper envelopes sales in stores throughout Thailand

Paralyzing protesters, murdering suspects - just another fortnight for the BIB.

Here is the full list of cars owned by disgraced Police Colonel Thitisan Uttanaphon which includes Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and nearly 30 other cars. His love of cars wasn’t a secret as his nickname is Joe Ferrari #ผู้กำกับโจ้ #Thailand

So one of the police is on the run,no mention of the other

4 facing charges ? ,

regards Woreordie

There are at least 7 officers involved in the murder of the suspect, all seven of them should be charged with murder.....not just "dismissed from the force"

The whereabouts of Police Colonel Thitisan Uthanaphon, Superintendent of Muang Nakhon Sawan Police Station, and two other police officers are still unknown. They are wanted in connection to the torture and murder of a drug suspect while in custody #Thailand #ผู้กำกับโจ้

Being a ex-copper, he is going to have to watch his back with the other inmates once his lengthy prison sentence starts.

This guy has Lamborgini's and Ferrari's and probably a couple of kg of gold stashed away.

The Thai press moves on very quickly.  Once the spotlight is off, you can be sure his money will buy him "soft time" at some friendly police facility and he will be out walking free in a very few years.

A senior policeman like this doesn't get to his position without having an "escape plan".

Perhaps he was going to use his car #14 Ford Escape.

Or as inspector Clouseau would say , his wife has been frugal with the housekeeping.

What the hell! These people are not qualified to become police officers.

I pity the guy who was suffocated to death.

The police needs reforming and officers should be punished much harsher for corruption and stuff like this. As long as they can operate like this nobody will trust the police.

Firing squad is the only solution.

Lengthy prisn sentence??? This is surely one where execution is more than warranted!

I am wondering how they will treat the anti Government protestors if you see this. I knew already that they use there fists to investigate people, but this is a bit over the top. To clean the RTP there should be some policemen from abroad have to come to Thailand to educate them, as they did in Iraq after Saddam Hussein...

Like in Kaboul ? Put 90% of all the generals in jail to start with and 80% of all above Captain.

Probably you removed 95% of all the scum already. Confiscate their properties and freeze their bank accounts. You probably can pay off half of the countries dept.  Daughter of a friend is a young lawyer that wants to become a judge 1 day. She joined the police force and after training she just lasted 2 weeks at a police station as she did not wanted to get involved  with what was going on. I personally witnessed more than 5 different cases where police from different branches was involved in illegal activities.
