BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Department of Disease Control (DDC) has revealed that the Sinovac vaccine has played a key role in saving Thai lives since the Alpha variant was found in the country early this year.

DDC Director-General Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong said the Chinese made vaccine has helped Thailand control the pandemic since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, when the world was facing a vaccine shortages due to the huge demand and inadequate supply.

He explained that, by having the vaccine at that time, Thailand was able to control the outbreak and save many lives. Although all vaccine efficiency has been reduced by the Delta variant, it does not mean Sinovac is ineffective.

Dr. Opas added that, with regard to corruption, the DDC would like to assure everyone about the Public Health Ministry’s transparency in its vaccine management plan. The Chinese government is also concerned about corruption.

I thought it was proved that Sinovac was only appropriate 13.5% effective against the Delta strain..... Or is the report to please the Chinese, as they were not happy that people don't trust Sinovac..

Controlling a pandemic that the Chinese gave them and destroyed their entire economy in the process ? I think the Thai people should donate to a mass seafood festival buffet to think them - when they eventually come back.

What worries me .... not really... is that they think people believe this nonsense they spew out to hide their gross misconduct in handling the procurement of effective vaccines .

The Alpha variant maybe... but Delta was the bulk of infection and a killer.

Agreed, I don't recall there was much vaccination going on at all way back then. Vaccination in UK started around Dec 2020. I believe that was the first person Worldwide to receive the Pfizer.

You are right. A recent CHINESE study shows that both Chinese vaccines are only 13.8 % efficient after one shot but this hair brained Govt still uses it. Even after two shots its not much better.

It appears that anyone who had two shots of Sinovac in the last few months will now need a booster shot shortly of something like AZ or Pfizer. Even the top brands says most people will need a booster in the future.?????

And for us older folk it may only be 2 to 3% effective against Delta. Why even bother?

Hello ,

well that’s very funny Thailand and China are concerned about corruption and transparency  !!??  5555 ???? Lol ???? , Thats like the Devil saying he’s a good person !!
Sinovac , Sinopharm and Sputnik v are low quality covid vaccines and because the failing Thai Government’s Covid Policies and Vaccination Policies we now stand in a very long global waiting line for good vaccines like Moderna and Pfizer.

As a person Immune compromised and a a Type-2 Diabetic why would I want to get injected with low quality vaccines like Sinovac , Sinopharm or Sputnik v that all have under 52% Efficacy !!??

Not !! Happening with me Thailand !!
oh !! P.S. , You talk about transparency and honesty.

Please , How about for example honesty and transparency about the 2 million + Pfizer vaccines donated by America ???????? To Thailand that 20% of the vaccines were agreed upon sharing with Expats !!??
That would be a start down the path of honesty and transparency !! ????

safe and Healthy Wishes to ALL !!

So helpful Dr's in Bangkok have died of covid after 2 shots of this rubbish and they had to re inoculate health workers with pfizer. The CCP seem to think the rest of the world is as brainwashed as back home,

It works so well they:

decided to stop using it as of 1-Nov.

need to provide a third-shot booster to 4+ mm people.

And no, she did not enjoy the play either.

Yet More BS can only think that they the administration have rounded up all theses guys to promote this particular vaccine to try and encourage the Thai public to have it if it’s that good why is the rest of the world not using it . They could hand me a brown envelope full of baht I still would refuse it nothing made in China lasts longer than a month !
