  • Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Prawit supposedly as interim PM and Anutin certainly waiting in the wings to take control. This could be truly as bad as a Thai soap opera!

  • OMG!!! Who will run the country now? Who will look after us?

It was not immediately announced who would assume his duties as acting prime minister. Under law, it would be Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, who is ranked first among several deputies . He is a close political ally of Prayuth and part of the same military clique that that staged the 2014 coup that initially brought him to power.

Musical chairs, window dressing, all the same.

They'll fix-it so that he stays, or fix it so that he is still in government.

Same faces different titles = no change.

It's all very comical, considering the fact that none of them were voted in in the first place.

Most comical are those here, within this venue, that clearly don't understand how things work.

Dreamy invented ideology.

This is huge!!

Who is next in line? The Watchman? Blockhead? Or will Uncle Tu rise like a Phoenix from the flames.

Either way, I'm sure there will be dramatic change to the inequality and corruption in Thailand.

????

I dont like those who are waiting in the wings, better the devil you know.

That's his first problem; which watch does he look at!

Prayuth Chan-ocha must suspend his active duties while the court decides whether he has overstayed his legal term in office.

Overstayed ? So , deport him  ...

Will he end up on the Privy Council like other past coup leaders?

He will be privy to as much money as he can abscond with....

Anutin .. Will mean all Farangs will have to have compulsory showers with a Loofa at the airport “;0)

You forgot to mention the added disinfectant ????

The vote was only 5 to 4. It will be overturned after a brown envelope changes hands.

Well thanks to the BBC i learnt a new word today, he was described as "Irascible".

Deputy PM Prawit Wongsuwan will become caretaker PM

and who # # # elected him ????

democracy - these # bring shame on the very idea, rotten to the core

Are the Thai people really this stupid, oh but but we get to vote in an election, what they haven't  quite realized is that they did not elect the people who are in charge

The court ruling should have triggered an immediate election, just a pity an election will make no difference

Harsh words from the court just to please the demonstrators,  & others, nothing more, carry on as usual i think

Prayut, Prawit, Same uniform, same medals, What difference does it make… Weight, watches?

Does Prawit have a Paratrooper Badge?  It is the major qualification he needs to run the military junta government

So Buddha was weeping for Prayut, I see...

A potential extinction event. Perhaps the powers have finally realized this guy is well beyond the expiration date and is no longer useful to anyone? Not that the substitute is an improvement. But, at a minimum seeing egg on Cha Cha's face will no doubt provide the nation with a brief degree of satisfaction. Perhaps it will erase that smug look of arrogance.

An accurate description.

"Risible" would have also been quite fitting.

So would <deleted>

Suspension from duty doesn't mean much in itself although I suspect it has a stronger connotation in western countries than it has in Thailand. Just a personal view as I have no data to back it up.

A stegosaurus is removed, and replaced by a brontosaurus. A big stage play? Or are the powers behind the power finally losing faith in Mr. Incompetent?

I'm thinking the brontosaurus is actually a Megatherium (Giant Sloth).
