Police Colonel Surachet Hakpal, Deputy National Police Chief, one of the four candidates, presented his vision for the 14th Police Commander position.

He highlighted his achievements in addressing critical issues, namely the 'Loan Shark' and 'Call Center Gang' cases, reported Siam Rath.

Surachet stated that his morning was spent writing a comprehensive four-page vision paper as instructed by Deputy National Police Chief General Damrongsak Kittiprapas.

Emphasizing the police force's commitment to public service, Suchart emphasized that ensuring public safety remained paramount.

He recognized the challenges posed by cases that had generated public concern, particularly those involving loan shark activities and call center scams. He stressed the importance of effectively addressing these issues to instill trust and security in the community.

Surachet highlighted that these pressing matters required swift attention and a multi-pronged approach by the National Police Bureau.

This includes thorough investigations, preventive measures, apprehension of wrongdoers, and recovering misappropriated assets.

He underlined that restoring justice to the public and countering such illicit activities were integral to maintaining societal harmony and safety.

How about investigating crimes, being fair, not taking bribes, not sitting all day in the station drinking tea or whatever? How about policing the roads properly in cars and looking for speeding, dangerous driving, DUI, and moving violations? How about stopping police from dealing drugs and forcing users to sell for them? How about sticking corrupt cops in jail?

Really?

he's talking like a politician and I never trusted politicians

I was hoping if there were any positives to take away from this election fiasco, it would be the disappearance of big joke, it would be his final bow, and his disappearance into oblivion.

But I guess some things are too good to be true, and I guess some people just never go away. The limelight and his slice of fame simply means too much to him.

At least he is forward thinking and Pro active ????

Not as most re active after the event has happened ????

"comprehensive 4 page" document. Which colour crayon did he use? ????

In the real world I agree, but TIT.

Yeah sure he is a politician but no one from any country gets that high up in there police force without being a politician. He did good in Chiang Mai one visit and he dropped the hammer on the immigration office. They cleaned up and started doing customer service after his visit they were open from 7am till they had taken care of everyone who showed up. A complete turn around thanks to big Joke

The story says 'Colonel' Sura.....

He's been refered to as 'General' Sura.... many times before.

There's several Police Generals waiting for their turn in the top seat before they retire. I rather doubt they would promote a Colonel ahead of one of the generals.

But TIT.

This happens all the time in translations of news stories about him - they mix up "phon aek" (four-star General) with "phan aek" (Colonel).

Thanks, I'm aware of this in another example. When I applied for PR I had an interview with the 'Porkong'.

I assumed this was a specific rank, but it turned out to mean 'very senior officer' (no specific rank).

4 pages?

Should be 4 words... "Serve, protect, investigate capture.

A quick google of "Police Vision Statement" found 207,000,000 results. Copy/paste and edit for Thai requirements and his morning might take 30min.

Here is a relevant topic he overlooked: How to regain public trust in the Police Force... But maybe that's not important.

What would a higher up franchise like that set you back and what would the returns be like?

Exactly! I cant understand the "he's earned my respect" posters - He didnt rise up through the ranks by doing a great job solving local crimes, he paid his way up, he's in the club, the people around him sponsored the franchisee to ensure they had a foot in the door.

Here you go Surachet, here is your rather bulging envelope for the month, here's one for you buddy Prawit too.

BJ says, that's OK, you can donate mine to starving elephant charities in Chiang Mai, Prawit says he doesn't want his either this month.

I can see it now, just as I see a blue flying pig outside my window

If only you knew the truth?  He's just better at not making it blatantly obvious!

Possibly but I would say that the main reason is that he's been connected to the horologist since a very young age?

Without me specs

I thought it read 14th century Police commander position

Actually maybe ????

Oh dear, it seems BJ is promoting his agenda to be on the short list and appears to be conforming to the well trodden path of collecting his dues.

After all the chinese actress did say on being whisked from the airport to her hotel with motorcycle outrider's, that everything is for sale in Thailand..

Ah, I was waiting for your hate of Surachat to pop up ! Makes me wonder what he’s done so wrong, except that you don’t like him being what you call a «  poster boy » IMO he’s straight enough, does his job and there hasn’t been a single better police man in Thailand so far . Enough for me, if most of Thailands police force had his integrity, then it would be a much safer place.

Those are the two things he managed to come up with?  Loan sharks and phone scams?   Somewhere, the Red Bull cop killer is smiling.

LOL...

The most pressing matter is.....policing.

Lots and lots and lots of police in Thailand.

ZERO policing.

He gets the attention as he is the only policeman in Thailand who actually does anything. No wonder people notice him.

I'd agree with straighter than most of the rest but think you are pushing it too far here?

All good points but when looking for a job the last thing you do is tell them how much their company sucks.
