The Thalang Police Deputy Chief Colonel Anukun Nooket told the Phuket Express that David has been charged with bodily and mind harm. He is being accused of allegedly kicking a female doctor, Tandao Jandam, 26, who is a doctor at a private hospital in Phuket.

 

She had been sitting on the bottom of steps on a public beach leading to his villa when the incident happened.

 

The steps have since been deemed by Phuket officials public land and encroaching on the beach.

so why this Swiss clown bosses the two ladies away from the steps that lead to his (rented) villa? 

now I even read that those steps are 'encroaching' as well... 

this guy ànd his thai wife need a thorough lesson to be learned.

his elephant escapade sounds a bit weird as well. "sanctuary"? my a... , just another way to make money!

The photo on the first page and the TV coverage at the Police Station leads me to believe that this is some sort of marketing campaign for the Elephant Sanctuary.

He stated that his privacy had been invaded earlier by several Chinese and that was the reason he was so angry. He just made things worse in my opinion, as his actions suggest that he thought he was kicking another pair of Chinese off his steps. With the Thai government's love fest for Chinese, this guy is just digging a deeper hole.

This isolated case of bad behaviour seems to me more of a smoke screen. The whole world is excited over the apparent misbehaviour of a dirty farang but the story must have a flip side.

Let the Thai lady file a complaint with the police and get on with life; there is MUCH more newsworthy stuff going on than this. If he is guilty, then try to settle out of court and reprimand the culprit accordingly - everything else is ridiculous and certainly not beneficial to the "endeavours" of the local tourism boys in promoting quality tourism - me thinks .......

In an earlier post on this, the Thai Doctor said that she offered 3 solutions at the time:

1  Both apologise to each other and walk away.

2  Neither apologises to the other and walk away

3  Legal proceedings

It was stated that the Swiss aggressor declined to apologise, but still needed an apology from the Doctor.

Now he wants to say he tripped, so it was an accident. If he tripped, why was it such a problem to apologise? Only now that he finds out what a mess he has landed himself in he wants to apologise. I am happy to say "Too late. You had your chance to be decent. Now take the consequences".

Check the Thai government's list of reserved occupations - only Thais are allowed to kick foreigners. lol

I beg to differ. No 500 baht fine, & the Thai guy could phone in the apology so no wai either.

 

That based on the Rimping Ping river store incident of a couple years back. Thai drop kicked an 80 plus y.o. farang into parked motorcycles. The perp phoned in an apology, & offered to cover medical expenses. Thai police gave the farang victim thirty days to press charges, as they did not.
