They need to start a program where you can come over if you are vaxed. And that’s it.

What that will do, hopefully, is motivate them to get their own population as vaccinated as possible in the coming months.

You dont regulate yourself out of a virus.

And they test positive whilst here and get jammed in the pokey for 14 days, at their expense !!

Very sadly the only type of boxes that people will be talking about in September and October will be wooden ones.

For me the saddest part of these schemes are that those Thais who have remained, not only in Pattaya but also in other tourist centric places, actually put their hope and faith in them.   I'm not saying they actually believe them, more a case of those with vested interests at best misleading, at worse blatently lying to desperate people who will continue to accrue debt they can never repay, or sell what possessions they have left.   Truly shamefull.

September 2022 if they're very lucky.

How about vaccinating the population here first?!?

What's the percentage here? It's got to be well under 10 percent.

Looks like they have done 12.5m people.  World statistics are HERE

I was talking specifically about the Pattaya area. Vaccines have been thin on the ground here.

Also, one dose of Sinovac is almost worthless. It causes all kinds of problems when people think they're good to go after just that.

as we are in a red zone ,most will have to isolate when they get back home ,so cant see many coming.

Deep red zone.

Days one to three they must stay in quarantine in the hotel.

They just cut their pool of potential tourists by 90%.   With no real benefits, given that letting vaccinated, tested tourists out into a city where 10-20% are already positive doesn't increase anyone's risks.

And unlike Phuket which is an island, they can't even pretend to keep out locals who have neither been vaccinated, nor tested.

the OP looks like it was written by a 5 year old, it is complete stupidity beyond belief - I really cannot add much more apart from the fact that pattaya is like a ghost town right now and there is no sign of that changing until they get to grips with this pandemic and get people fully vaccinated - they really need to have a reality check - this country is going down the #### fast and there is no stopping it - these baffoons are showing just that

Smeds.....settle bloke..... no busting a gasket eh?

Yup, a 5 year old or my soi cat can communicate better than the news report.

There is Pattaya city centre and East Pattaya (probably another hundred places.)

Likely many food traders moved over to darkside. Never seen it so busy in 8+ years.

Certainly East Pattaya is thriving. Life goes on.

Perhaps only doom and gloom for those collecting rent in city centre.

Yes. Vaccines need to be available.

Relax dude.

A sealed route?

Wrong.

Example, vaccinated tourist goes and gets a massage from a girl who is one of the 10-20% positive and catches covid.

Vaccinated tourists then goes to a restaurant and gives covid to a waitress who didn't have covid.

Waitress goes home to family and gives it to them.

Two to three weeks later, the 10-20% is now 30% and rising rapidly.

Of course, vaccinated tourist is fine, he doesn't get sick, nor die, but the massage girl and waitress, and their close contacts may not be so lucky.

Vaccinated people can still catch covid and spread covid.  This is not new information.  It has been known for months.

Populations of countries will have to be vaccinated to around 70% to be able to open up fully, and to do so safely.  There's no getting around that.

Worse idiocy to believe tourists will flock in "large numbers" to somewhere with rampant Covid and a list of mad conditions longer than your arm.

As for the projected numbers and revenue, yes, you guessed it, more idiocy.

Yup....picked a bad day to give up glue sniffing.

Actually, IMO most destitute Thais will head to the village where they can grow their own food. IMO most Thais retain links to village relatives.

I for one do not expect millions of starving Thais in the future.

Pie-in-the-Skyland.  New record deaths/daily Covid cases.  No vaccines for locals.  UK puts Thailand on Red List and these duckheads are expecting million!

Soi 6 and 6/1 are easy to seal off. What else do you need ?

I think you're correct. However I think there is some evidence that fully vaccinated people are less infectious if infected than unvaccinated.

Have tried numerous times to register for a vaccine and always been told "Thais only"

Other option is to pay (!!) up front at private hospitals that have no idea which vaccine they will have or when,

So insisting that tourists are double vax is pointless if most expat residents can't get near a vaccine registration list.

Sorry but here, you are insulting the 5 year olds.

Shame on you.

That link lists doses administered, not people vaxxed. Thais claim 14m+ shots. They seem to have stopped publishing details of single and double vaxxed numbers of people.

A move in the right direction... this will work better because many would be tourists love Pattaya , i for one will prefer to go to Pattaya than to fly to Phuket, as Pattaya offers a lot more hotel and entertainments choices then any other destinations in Thailand...

Entertainment choices ??? Hotels yes but entertainment is a bit slow at the moment and won't be much better in the near future(let's say the near future means the next 6 months)
