I can easily picture this. Voices raised. Offence given. Thai guy goes away, comes back with scythe. Hacks at neck from behind with no warning.

My advice: don't be an <deleted> in the first place, avoid altercation, but if an argument is picked by someone else, get out of the way as soon as you can because they will come back with a gun or knife, and if you do get into a fight, don't go to the floor whatever you do or they'll stamp on your head.

My advice, never sit with your back to the door.

  • Well, RIP, but loud music at night lead me to pay my regular subsidy to local police, fortunately it works. Otherwise it could have ended up with bloodshed as well.    Some people just don't

Do people of that age bracket usually play loud music, always thought it was the younger generation.

It is a foolish notion to think that there is even a modicum of regard for life in Thailand.

More to do with the justice system IMHO.

In the UK you would be caught and jailed for a long time.

In Thailand there's a good chance of getting away with it or a minor sentence.

Once I had neighbors playing loud music for one night until 7am, the next day they seem to have started again, so I started to sing louder than their audio system. They could not take it anymore, and the music soon stopped!

So Meatloaf is now called brown bread ..sad news

I’m not so sure that the ‘victims were attacked just because they are farangs'

..... I think its  be related to some ay-holes making a lot of noise and someone else had enough and snapped....

This is not an uncommon occurrence in Thailand.... someone has a party and makes lots of noise, neighbour has enough rocks up and attacks !...

Such stories are frequently in the Thai news.

Oh yeah, cos I remember the last time I had enough of some ay-holes, I just rocked up with a scythe and decapitated them as well.

This nutter is no doubt a son of a <deleted>. Really, I'd love to see the dysfunction family that raised him.

Families here suck ass.

The guy is at large so how was it determined to be caused by music?

Read the OP again, or the link, he is not "at large" but even if he were there are other neighbours who would have been aware of the problem, don't you think?

Here we go .. Covid Death and 1000 THB fine for 22 year old …. tourist coming 55555555 Nah

there is a right and wrong way to deal with this situation - murder is not one of them

Thanks for pointing that out, no one would have guessed otherwise.

Farangs need to learn respect and not look down on ragged ass poor brown people.

Are you kidding?

Farang are the most politically correct, do-gooders on Earth.

It's the locals who look down on others

Senseless violence, way over the top to handle such a noise problem. RIP.

Looking at the photos, it appears to be those cheap low budget one room shoebox type places, not exactly known for having educated fine upstanding residents.

RIP.

Well the one murdered was the boyfriend of my Thai wife's cousin. They lived there and had another place too! He was caught up in it. The nutter who did it had been diagnosed with mental health problems before.

We have to now tell the little girl that her 'daddy' as she called him is not alive. And for your information he was not a cheap skate either. Far from it!!

Just goes to show sometimes you have to avoid conflict in Thailand at all costs.

I myself have never had any issues here, but I also just follow the rules and mind my own business.

I've seen a lot of cases where people think they can do whatever they like, just isn't reality.

The Thai media reported that a group of tourists had been drinking since 9 pm annoying the residents with loud noise from music.

Some time after 3 am this morning (police responded at 3.50 am) one man could take the disturbance no longer and attacked the two tourists then fled the scene. He was believed to be a local resident

Memo to self... don't pee off the neighbours.

Speaking of foolish notions . . . Seems there is great concern here over the risk to life from covid.

Cocky youngsters think Thailand is the same as the west. It is more violent.

Naew Na said the suspect had mental health issues.

I am not trying to paint the entire population with the same brush but there is a disturbing lack of impulse control in Thailand.  The number of murders, and for the flimsiest of reasons, is rather shocking.

I know how 'Tom' feels! These drunk lout tourists $hìťing on people. I bet these white entitled drunk tourists laughed at people's pleas and threats. Now they are not laughing! But Tom should have used a baseball  bat or horsewhip.  Hope he gets lenient  treatment.

That was my Thai wife's cousins boyfriend who was murdered. He has probably spent more time in this country that most of the bar stool tappers who post on here!!. The murderer was known to have mental problems and should have been in a looney bin.

Fortunately our police contacts know the truth!!

I may perhaps not be fully up-tp-date with agricultural terminology, but in my opinion the murder weapon was a sickle, not a scythe.

So there was no loud noise or disturbance to set the guy off ? Not saying that loud music deserves a barbaric attack like this but im guessing that if there was no loud music at 3am this might not have happened.

I am not justifying murder here but pointing out that you can <deleted> people off if you don't tone your music down. I seen Thai neighbors go at each other over music and I have bene pretty <deleted> off because of it too. Of course I never cut someone's head off.

If he had mental issues how come he managed to get away so easily and stay away to date ?

He is in custody. Was taking in earlier today. It was my Thai wife's cousins boyfriend who was murdered so I have access to quite a lot of information.

You have to be careful ,even sounding your horn at another driver ,when

he's cut in front of you , can lead to injury or death, does not take much to

set them off , and many carry all kinds of weapons in their vehicles .but it

seems to have gotten worse in last few years.

regards worgeordie

yes i hate the way they just pull out at junctions..cut me up i take a deep breath swear a lot .keep my hands off the horn because as you said these people are crazy when upset and don't think about their actions...some of the younger males here have lost the plot..keep calm see another day
