As Thailand began relaxing and going out again PM Prayuth Chan-ocha has warned people not to get complacent with regards to COVID-19

 

Through his spokesman at Government House Thanakorn Wangbunkhongchana as reported by Daily News, Prayuth said:

 

No parties

 

No drinking

 

No gambling

 

The PM said there should be no letting down of the guard despite the Covid-19 numbers stabilizing in the country.

 

People should be adopting "Universal Protection" and businesses, markets and communities should still be following protocols of Covid Free Setting with ATK tests and the like.

 

The PM warned  that big gatherings under the Covid-19 and emergency decree rules were all still punishable under the law. 

 

Clusters of new infection had to be avoided. 

 

He said that the CCSA would meet this coming Thursday to discuss changes to rules in the light of improvements in the situation. 

 

The PM's order was far from the mind of Thais at Bang Saen beach yesterday, notes an ASEAN NOW reporter.

 

The beach was heaving with people along many kilometres with cars double and triple parked and horrendous traffic.

 

Deckchairs were packed all along the beach with Thais eating and singing along to guitars.

 

Most people were still wearing masks but social distancing was difficult given the large number of day trippers to the Chonburi beach.

And how do you contract covid19 when gambling? The viruses drop down on the spinning roulette and spread like a tornado? 

Rules do not need to make sense. It’s 9 parts out of 10 an exercise in obedience, 1/10 a pandemic. People have had too much freedoms in recent decades that need to be curtailed. This is precisely what is happening now.

I’m wondering with the hypocritical puritans are going to start ‘taxing’ enjoyment.....

Probably talking about illegal casinos where people sit together at tables, exchange chips, touch cards, order drinks and take off their mask. 

 

The responsible thing would be to gamble online. Still illegal here but at least Covid-free!

I am more than willing to obey this ruling, IF I can be sure that it is applied fairly and equally across the Thai population from the lowest of the low to the highest of the high.

 

That would mean EVERY officers, SNCOs and other ranks in the military, police, civil service messes and HiSo house in the entire country with NO exceptions at all.

 

Otherwise it is just more mealy mouth meaningless drivel which many people see and hear every day, and ignore.

drinking and gambling cause one’s judgement to fail, leading to Covid inducing behaviors - that’s about the only reason I can think of, or maybe gamblers tend to crowd together in groups ? 

10000 testing positive per day is stabilizing? and now rural doctors claiming its bs and actual numbers are at least double and he calls it stabilizing? 

 

Lets ask Anutin and see what he thinks. I wonder if he is aware Thailand has covid or what the numbers are
